Before they knocked over Prahran for 114 by taking 9/70 before lunch on Day 2 to give them a chance at back to back flags. While Carlton were forced to chase 380 to win off 90 overs against Fitzroy Doncaster and after struggling at 3/36 and 5/213, Evan Gulbis(165no) and Tim Welford(104no) added a club record 168 run unbeaten 6th wicket partnership to win the game and advance Carlton to their first 1st XI Grand Final for 24 years.
