One of my mates knows the family from around mooroolbark and was pleasantly surprised when i told him that there was a son of big andy goodwin running around for Coburg. His first reaction was tommy playing for coburg ? He was surprised and i said too him he is a bit roar but goes hard at it and looks good. Tommy has improved a lot more since. Old fashion player who would have not been out of place in the old 1970s vfa football.

Port Melbourne's injury list continues to improve. I think the club sent out an email during the week with only four players sidelined and key player Mihocek resuming this week.

Good win will be a handful for Port, but Haretuku in the side gives us a little more flexibility. Hopefully Gary Ayres game number 200 is a solid win,and the players can enjoy the tribute night for Fred Cook that follows it

Totally outclassed today after showing a small bit of fight in the first quarter. Frankly, it's not a good advertisement for a future coach when the side gets pumped by 160 points.

Conceding something like 138-3 from quarter time until midway through the last term is an absolute disgrace.

Gary Ayres will no doubt enjoy his 200th game and the Fred Cook celebrations. I can't imagine what the opposition coach is/was thinking. If he is hoping to leave the club in better shape than when he arrived, time is fast running out to achieve that modest goal.

What a memorable day for the Port Melbourne faithful. Something like 23 consecutive goals to Port at one stage.

A great tune up for Ports finals campaign and plenty to like with key personnel to return.

I'll post up a bit more tomorrow.

23 unanswered goals - is that some sort of record ? Perhaps Northport or VFA will know if we have done that in the past ? Port looked very polished yesterday - hopefully they don't get ahead of themselves and are focused v Box HIl. Slow starts still need to be addressed - a bit of a concern.

37 times Grand finalists
16 times premiers
21 times runners up - THE MIGHTY BOROUGH!

I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN,
I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED,
I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Record vfa score Williamstown 55.17.347 to camberwell 4.8.32 in 1986. Not sure if the seagulls kicked 23 uanswered goals though. Will check.
