AFL garbage no thanks. Waste of space. No interest whatsoever. I can't stand the big bash cricket garbage and now you can add this AFL drivel as well. As for the Women's League AFLW no interest. Good luck ton the girls who are having a go but to watch a game 3 goals to 2 I would rather watch paint dry, cement harden or grass grow. In the words of CGull aflX pass for me too.

Same...No interest at all. Don't mind watching the Sheila's footy...Abysmal skill level but they do have a go.

AFL probably want footy happening in some form for 12 months of the year.

I think you are right VFA. AFLW is very low standard and entertainment level is minimal. To get the amount of publicity and public interest it does is illogical.

Just goes to show the power of the AFL!The AFL is now #1 with soccer, RL and Ru way way behind.

I dont mind them trying new things so long as they dont lose focus on their core business Any business that dosent inovate and try new strategies will get overun by competitiors and go under. Its also about keeping your product in the publics mind 24/7

The thing about the AFL I hate the most is the shocking amount of money paid to their top ezces There about 8 - 10 on $800,000 a year and no one in AFL football admin is worth that except the boss!

I understand totally what you are saying and agree however do they really have to reinvent the wheel? AFL is in the spit light 12 months per year without the gimmics. Even in its off season it has more publicity than active leagues ie a league and basketball.

Too much publicty is never enough in the sporting entertainment business

I dont like some of the things the AFL do but they are in contol of our great game and anything they do to keep it # 1 is OK with me.

They couldn't find $1 million to fund the Development League, but have poured $30 million in to AFLW and God knows how much in to the mickey mouse AFLX. Damn them to Hell!

Spot on LUM, The $1 million dollars for the developement League is peanuts on what they have spent on the AFLW and now the useless garbage called AFLX. I wonder how many will fall over with knees and ankles during this AFLX circus ?

If the AFLX circus is a flop then don't be surprised if it gets canned after one year as much as it will hurt the AFLs big ego.
