They have a young ruckman named Kovacevic who if he can stay fit can replace the ruck side of it, and has greater upside, but in terms of guts, heart and leadership Tom leaves a big hole. Great club man and great fighter on the field.

COBURG has been rocked by the departure of its captain and inspirational ruckman Tom Goodwin.
The 26-year-old told the club last Thursday that he had decided to move on after four years at the City Oval.
He’s already being linked to other VFL clubs, including Port Melbourne, but Goodwin said this morning he would also weigh up offers from local and even interstate clubs.
He said it was a difficult decision to leave the Burgers but he had “grown stale’’ and wanted a fresh start and to enjoy some team success.
“What does the future hold? I don’t know at this stage,’’ Goodwin said.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Coburg, made a lot of friends. It certainly wasn’t an easy decision to make. In fact it was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in my life.’’
He said he wished the Lions all the best as they strived to climb the ladder.
Goodwin, the son of former AFL defender Andy, joined Coburg from Box Hill Hawks in 2015 and has developed into one of the league’s best big men.
He won the Burgers’ best and fairest in 2016 and was appointed captain and represented the VFL last year.
His departure is a heavy blow for Coburg, which finished the season on the bottom of the ladder with only one win.
Its 2017 best and fairest Liam Hunt walked out midway through this season.
Maybe the dolphuins can do with him although success won't be at Kars Street next year. Werribee could be a good fit as they are on the up and could easily improve into a finals team. Would not be suroprised if he ended up in the SANFL though.
Unfortunate, but when he wasn't in that raft of signings about a month ago it seemed inevitable. Can't begrudge the bloke, has played his guts out for a few years for us. Would just be hard to see him playing against us, hopefully he heads to the SANFL or local footy.
Spot on vfa. Your old crash and bash type ruckman who wouldn't take a backward step. SANFL would hopefully provide him with a last shot at the big league, know he was close with Essendon a few years back.

Wonder if he could emulate his father and head to Frankston? He would be a good fit for next year.
Big loss for the Lions. He's a just a super competitive footballer and comes across (as an outsider) as a leader at the club.
Experience has been seemingly rare for Coburg. Hopefully they get the right mix of development from within and some shrewd recruiting.

We'll thrill 'em
We'll kill 'em
We'll tear 'em in two
Tommy is a great player and rare breed of old fashion ruckman. Tough as nails. More than likely end up in the sanfl.

Unless he has actually stated he is off to SA Port Melb will be into him big time.
Always felt that Port recruited on name rather than need.
