DIGS i was going to say the same thing, not often you see Northport swearing but understandable :)

BellStbill - what is your estimate on the crowd ? I wouldn't be suprised if it was 5k ? Awesome atmosphere (from both sets of supporters), really getting into the game. This one will be long remembered by all Port fans who attended.

By the weekend id expect those odds to drop a little bit more for the tigers.

Richmond supporters betting with hearts not heads. I would not underestimate port Melbourne though. Those odds now would be about right.

Yep agree...about right now. What about Port at Ethiad Stadium? Probably favours Richmond? Plus the crowd factor will favour Tiges?

Ill be barracking hard for Port and ex Dolphin big Khan, but I keep thinking Richmond with their 19 AFL listed boys will be too good.

I wouldnt get sucked in by sports odds made up by people who dont really follow the game.

Williamstown $1.46 Port Melbourne $2.75 ...

When these two teams met mid season the game was decided in the final 2 minutes. In fact both sides had a lead deep into time on. On that day Port Melbourne were missing Haretuku, Mihocek, Murdoch, Nahas, Wooffinden, Waddell and Krakaeur. Willy got ambushed yesterday by a much stronger side than they previously met.

MegaA I'd say it easily cleared the 5k mark, probably up around 6. As someone who wasn't around for the glory days of the VFA it was really really good to see.

And to think Port.Preston Coburg and Bruswick,Sandy,Willy Prahran,Dandenong and Oakleigh used to get those sort of crowds on a regular basis and somitmes a lot more.on Sundays.

Saturdays crowd did look good on TV Could have gotten another 2 - 3  thousand in easily.but maybe the current  toilet facilites are now not up to much more than 5 - 6 thousand.still you could always bring in some portables.

A REAL 10,000 crowd would see North Port out nowadays.

I've just started watching the replay.  Will post my thoughts on the game (and next weeks GF) over the next day or two.

Very, very excited!

I was worried going into this game about the dangers of a slow start.  Boy was I wrong!

From the outset, Port's ferocity at the contest was first rate, and we managed to eliminate one of the key issues that has been a problem this year...Forward line 'repeat efforts' and pressure.

Three opportunistic goals.. Haretuke, Cain and I think Tommy O'Sullivan all kicking close range goals when the ball was brought to ground.

In the Home and Away meeting, Nick Meese absolutely dominated.... racking up huge numbers in the hitouts.  I thought Lachie Waddell and Haretuku did a great job, particularly early in the game.  I thought Meese's influence increased as the game went on however.

I've watched up to quarter time, and the game comes up a treat on TV.  It must have been the biggest crowd between two VFA clubs for some years. I had to park as far from the footy ground as I can recall.  Both clubs supporters were vocal and passionate.  That seems to come accross well on the TV coverage so far.  I am looking forward to listening to the ABC 774 radio call when I get the chance.

I'll post more a little later :)
