To wipe $50k from standalone salary caps is disgraceful if that's true. There is so much competition with local clubs that attracting ex-AFL players to fill those gaps in experience. Baffling and does seem to support moves that weaken our clubs.

How much is the salary cap ?

More than twice what Coburg are paying their entire list! 

I believe it’s now $300k, down from $350k in previous years. That’s an average of $17k per match, across 23 players, so about $750 per game on average.

Last I heard it was something like $380K plus exceptions for playing assistants, veterans etc. Incredible it was reduced given AFL reserves teams regularly field players who earn more than that on their own!

If is 380 then thants not bad money. By 18 games its around 21k per team so would allow several players to get a 4 digit figure per game. Those local leagues must be paying great dollar if the likes of Willie and Port can't compete - perhaps the level of commitement required to be a VFL player is a big factor as well.
