It's pretty common for clubs to leave a few spots on the list. There's always a some mid season signings as well.
Coburgs losses outweigh our recruits IMO. Few clubs publicise their departures but once again over half our leadership group have left and we are lacking size (again),
I'd expect another 5-7 win season and we'll finish bottom 6
Why is that Ron ? Is their conflicts with the coaching staff ? Is it a money issue ? Is it players chasing success ? I'd honesty like to see Coburg do well. I always enjoy it down there and now that Frankston is not competing Coburg would have to be the other side that Id like to see do well.
Off the field (as a outsider) things appear to be going well at Piranha Park. Crowds are up significantly, theirs been ground improvements etc etc but if things don't go right on the park then the club eventualy will suffer both on and off the park.

I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN,
I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED,
I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, which I hope is reasonably well informed, the club is pulling out all stops to be relevant within the community and to pull people through the gate. However, we can't escape the fact our main revenue streams are trickles compared to Willy, Port and the aligned clubs.
The knock on effect is that we are unable to pay players and coaches anywhere near their VFL or local market rate. So they are playing and coaching for probably 1/4 to 1/2 the coin they could get elsewhere and after a while the gloss of playing/coaching in this competition wears off and commercial realities come into play.
Its ts easy to "stick with your mates" if you're getting $1600 per game instead of $400.
Hopefully ron the burgers can get off to a decent start next season winning the close games and would be rapt to see them in September action.
Would it matter Brad, with such another strong list of recruits neither would get a game !!
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Thing is your probably right though!
I think more weight is added to the comment of Digs when you consider that Valenti has had a recent knee reco (I believe last year). He wouldn't be the 1st person in footy (or sports in general) that has not been the same after a knee reco. Apparently he has signed in the past few days. i wish to be proven wrong on this one. Still unsure of the Anastasio situation. I heard he was signing a few weeks ago but yet to hear anything from the club.
Yeh you dont know how players will return after a knee reco but would love him back at the club, just great to see some of the old boys back at the borough
