Good reading MegaA. Agree that a 40% turnover is now pretty standard from year to year.

I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, can't say I noticed him, but it's always hard to recognise players during pre-season!
Paul you asked about a month ago what is happening with Anastasio. Anastasio has been training with the club from last year and the club has finally confirmed that he is now a Borough. This further strengthens the off season recruitment making it one of the strongest sides the club has put together in recent years. Quality player retention has also been impressive as the club usually has some big name departures.
With Ports financial issues you would have thought that we would have seen the opposite happen, ie big name player departures and at best only mediocre signings.
Practice Match #2 Squads vs. SandringhamMarch 24, 2017NewsPractice Matches, Sandringham, squadsPort Melbourne FC
Port Melbourne will travel to Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday to face Sandringham in our second set of practice matches leading into season 2017.
Last week, the club had a positive pair of hit outs against reigning VFL runners-up Casey, with several new faces impressing onlookers.
After a slow start in the Seniors, the Borough worked their way into the contest after quarter-time before eventually being overrun by 44 points.
The Development League fared a lot better, as they ran away from their Casey counterparts to the tune of 51 points.
The last occasion that bayside rivals Port and Sandy clashed with each other was in the Elimination Final of season 2016, when the Zebras outgunned the Borough by 45 points to finish their year at North Port Oval (pictured, above).
This Sunday, both the Senior and Development League sides will be looking to improve on their performances as they ramp up the intensity with just two weeks to go until our big season opener against the Northern Blues at North Port.

Sunday 26th March, 2017

Well Port Melbourne have Denise's off their recruiting during the week with the addition of Houghton, unfortunately it looks like he received a Cordy or hamstring injury early in the first quarter of today's practice match against Coburg.
It was a solid hit-out from Port. Nahas could be very damaging during the season. He kicked 6 goals today and Lisle booted 5. I think Conway may have slotted 4 as well, so we look to have quite a few options up forward.
The final score of 22.13.145 to 12.8.80 gives Port some hope of posting some bigger scores in 2017 after a pretty conservative season on the scoreboard in 2016.
To be honest I can't a more impressive even spread of talent across the field. There will be some very unlucky players on Thursday night selections.
My only concern is ruck really and getting first use of the ball. It's a huge ask for Kelso who will be several years before he grows into his body and Lachy Waddell who gives away a bit in height to most opposition ruckman.
Still... Exciting times and I am very excited about round 1 against the Bullants.
Definitely have more firepower up front this year which is exciting, ruck is my concern too, haretuku i assume is the player under investigation cause I haven't seen him all pre season, any word on how we are tracking with injuries?
