I might rock along if the weather is ok.Big thankyou to Port for ensuring that at least one ex standalone VFA club will be in the GF.

I reckon Willy might be a bit too strong on the day Ill also be hoping for a Richmond win over Hawthorn seconds..

Port Melbourne is the home of the finals series and the home of the VFL and deservedly so !!!! But in all seriousness it's played at Port for a few reasons. Easier for the media instead of transporting equipment to and from grounds, Port can handle a big crowd and can host a big match without too much of a hassle. Ie went to the npl final yesterday and although less people than Port v Footscray, huge lines for food, drinks etc. Port puts on a good match day but the main reason is due to making the tv game affordable to cover and the good venue.

"Hawthorn seconds" will have more Box Hill players than Hawthorn this week, as they have for quite a few games this year. Lots of good kids who have done the work in development league have stepped up for Box Hill this year.

Paul, will send you a pm. My other halfs nephew goes really well under 16s. Just missed out in eastern ranges squad last year. Won b&f in comp. Will give you some details. In the genes as grand father played for South Melbourne in mid to late 40s. Love to see him get a look in with ranges. Yes very good system in place in the east. Who are the kids that have kicked on when you were at box hill ?

STOP wheeling out the same old crap Mega.

if you finish higher on the ladder you are entitled to a home final.

There  are plenty of grounds better to accomodate finals other than Port.

All people want is a level playing field with one set of rules with no advantages for any team.

If I was a Willy supporter I would be filthy !!

You asked why the finals are played at Port and I gave you the answer, the main reasons being the affordability, the central location, the A1 playing surface and its proven track record of being able to handle a big crowd. Their the reasons behind why Port hosts the finals so if you think the reasons are crap and don't like reading the answers then don't ask the question. If it bothers you so much then I suggest that next year you offer to transport all the equipment from ground to ground and set it up for each finals matches. Let us know how you go with that proposal to the VFL
Where else do you think they are going to play the finals ??? Willy and punt rd are too small, Ballarat, Frankston, Casey are too far away, Collingwood has no fencing. Why would they gamble and move it away from a venue that's proven itself over the years ? If its not broken don't fix it.

Btw looking forward to you once again being a Port Melbourne fan next year after Ballarat takes a break from the league. Ill buy you a borough burger to celebrate, The prodical son returns.
