Will be interesting to see if Hartley keeps his spot in the Essendon seniors. Hope he does, but if not, Uysal, Younan and Hartley may all line up for the Bombers against their old team.

I had Casey Scorpions as a likely contender for a top-2 finish.  But having seen (parts) of the game they played against Northern, they look a long way off it.  Is it injuries to Melbourne's list that have been the issue?

Melbourne 2nds have about 10 guys unavailable at the moment which is why they are struggling. They are a long way off what they produced in 2016.

Casey will finish closer to last than first this season. No depth whatsoever. Melbourne seconds. Port will clobber casey under lights. Reckon coburg who beat essendon last year can do it again. Lloyd and miles will be promoted this week which makes it tougher at williamstown who are slowly cutting loose. Expect the seagulls to win. Which rooster team will turn up the competitive one from 2 weeks ago or the one that has copped hidings in 3 of the games ? Werribee who are the leyland brothers have struck form with wins at arden street, hoppers crossing and wangaratta. Next stop north ballarat. They would be more than earning frequent flyer points.

Coburg and Essendon line ups from 2016 to 2017 are essentially apples v oranges (at least ours certainly is). Essendon justifiably would be favourites, but with us playing at PP once again, we aren't without a fighting chance to open our account.

The erattic way that Sandy /St Kidla seconds are playing it wouldnt surprise if Carlton seconds gave them a touch up at Preston

Never a happy hunting ground for the Zebras/Saints in the past

Ive witnessd some horrible thrashings over the years esp if the weather was crap.

38 loss to Carlton seconds  only to be expected for the Saints seconds

The only bright spot for the day is the slimey Saints firsts got their arse kicked nicely by the rising Swans

No bright spots at Piranha Park today with Essendon absolutely destroying us in the second half, despite only leading narrowly at the main change.

The gulf in class was there for all to see and frankly I'm surprised Germo didn't set the coaches box on fire such was his justifiable anger at the way we turned our toes up in the last term.

A truly horrible effort.

Some short price favorites rolled. Port at $1.11 footscray at $1.18 and werribee fell in at the skinny odds of $1.02. Roosters massive odds at $16 just missed. They stormed home to fail narrowly. Both geelong and casey had upset wins. Geelong won away to the dogs after some average games recently. Port have been in super form but were poor tonight at casey fields. Box hill now the only undefeated side. I would not have picked that in a fit.
