Round 9 Frankston v Port Melbourne

How is the Borough travelling this year so far? They wouldnt want to get to Skybus Stadium thinking ithis will be an easy kill. They should win, bookies rate them 1.05 - think thats a bit short myself. Dolphins are a fast starting side, always in front or thereabouts at half time, but have a big drop off in the third quarter. When they learn to run out a game 100% they will knock off a decent side. There is some real talent in this team - Fordham, Rich, Pierce, McHale will cause plenty of problems if let off the leash.

Highlight for me will be Pierce v Haretuku....

Very short odds and not a true indication of what the game will be like. Frankston always gives us a harder time than we imagine at their home ground and may even win this one. If Frankston plays at their best and we have a off day then it may be a long drive back to the Borough.

Not a bad win in the end I thought. Frankston kept attacking but Lisle and Dylan Conway did the damage up forward after Ports last week inaccuracy.

Isaacs Conway was terrific in the middle and set up a heap of the footy in the middle.

Ayres pretty unhappy with some aspects of the game with a decent spray on the ground as players left the field. I'd love to have known what was said. He was still pretty animated just prior to the start of the third quarter.

Didn't think Frankston were that far off the mark and I expect that they should notch up some more wins before the end of the season. At times they seemed to be just slightly off with their execution and decision making and struggled containing our forwards (as you said NorthPort).

As a club I believe Frankston has alot to be proud oft. A decent crowd in attendance and if the club does very well on field (top 4) you would expect Frankston to probably have the biggest crowds in the VFL. Great atmosphere at the ground - it was refreshing for once to go to a away ground where you saw abit of passion from the supporters. One of the most vocal grounds (with a heap of one eyed claims and "we are getting robbed from the umpires" comments).

Good attendance to their after match function (alot more than ours when we lose). As per previous years I found the staff to be very warm and friendly. Sure they still have things to work on and it isn't a finished product just yet but at the moment theirs plenty to be happy about at the dolphins -  I wish them all the best of success for the rest of the season.

Not having Pierce play was a massive loss for Frankston. They didnt seem to be the same side without him. Agree that Lisle and Conway were the difference. What Frankston wouldnt give for one or both of them. Hopefully Elton will be back soon to fill that void.

They have some issues with their leadership group I think. Some poor choices have been made, two  of them should be playing suburban footy they have been so poor.

Not meaning to be disrespectful to Port, but they seem a long way short of the best teams Ive seen this year.

Digs its a reflection on how much I love my work, procrastinating and writing football posts instead of starting my working week.

Bearsman how do you rate Port compared to the other sides you have seen?

Mega best two  Ive seen are Richmond and Casey - not much between them, Id say theres a big gap to the rest. About  5-6 goals better than what Ive seen of Port and Box Hill. Have only seen Collingwood on TV so cant really comment on them.

Ports top 8 or 10 players are very good, not sure about the quality of some of the rest in that team yesterday.

Digs will love this, but we have some good players to come into that side. Hooper an Mascitti are two. Pendlebury when fit and available, those three alone give us great options on setting up rebound footy out of defence.

I believe Arnott and Krakouer in the middle were both omissions on form. Lachie Waddell also gives us options as a mobile tall.
