Ryan Pendlebury named for his Port Melbourne debut!

The ground should be in good nick for Saturdays game after some work following the much publicised surface woes.

Borough will win comfortably. Ryan pendlebury is a bit if a journey man. Did he also play for balwyn ?

After Sandy/St Kilda seconds disgraceful perfomance at Williamstown they need to improve a lot to even get near Port.

Well who would have thought the Zebras would beat Port by 55 points on their own dunghill?Looks like the AFL listed players decided to turn it on for once!

Talk about boiled lollies to chocolates and this result would be one of Sandringhams biggest wins ever at North PortI

It will be interesting to hear the Port perspective why they were beaten so badly at home.

By all reports it was a very flat and uninspiring performance by Port with a number of changes to the side.

Not really sure why, perhaps one of those that got to the game could provide more. Unfortunately I was working in Shepparton and didn't make it to the game.

Weren't switched on at all. We were made to look 2nd rate, couldn't string together any passes. Sandys pressure was too much for us. When we needed some leaders to step up and make a difference and steady the nervous heads, no one could be found. Needed a strong leader, a Pinwall type to get the team realy fired up and perform when things were going pear shaped. Just seemed so hard for us to move the ball and way too slow. At times outnumbered and left the sandy forward line unmarked. Even more dissapointing is that this has happened after a weeks rest. You would struggle to find any positives from that performace and if we put up another one of these performances v Williamstown we will cop another 10 goal loss.

Sandy has had a great run on our turf in recent years. They have won games convincingly when they went into the match as overwelming underdogs. This year, last year, 2016 final.

Mega,

At the risk of getting offside with all my great Port mates, Have you ever stopped to think that maybe just maybe you mightn’t be any bloody good.

It does happen you know !,

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

A obvious attempt to get a reaction Digs but I will respond nevertheless. No I didn't stop for a moment to think that Port is not any good and the reason behind that is because Port IS good. 3 of those losses were due to inacurate kicking, in all other aspects of those games we were just as good or better than our opposition. Port is a good side, obviously not as good as last year but a decent side nevertheless who on their day I would say could trouble just about anybody. Port is currently in 9th position. Should they not make finals then they have underachieved.

Agreed, we certainly have the talent to be a side playing in September.

We have underachieved primarily due to being poor finishers in front of goal.

Despite the poor defensive effort this week, I think we have a good backline even with the departure of Mihocek.

I believe the other key factor is missing another ruck option in Waddell who gives us another movie tall option when fit. Yes I know injuries happen to all sides, but I think it effects our structure a lot - with a reliance on Dickson to provide a relief ruck option.
