In 2018, while grass roots footy was withering, the AFL’s 12-person executive team takes home more than $10.73 million in wages, including $3.56m in bonuses. Would love to know who got what bonuses during the period Tassie footy was being run into the ground.

Ive often commented on this rorting of the system.Apart from the CEO NO ONE at the AFL is worth the sort of money the top boys get! Its especially galling that these bloodsuckers are wasting millions that could be spent on clubs that are folding at grass roots level all around the country.

None of them would get that sort of money in the real business world and Im certain a lot of the jobs are just made up for ex footy mates!

snouts in the trough, and the sycophantic media will probably gloss over it and lavish praise on AFLX and AFLW

Wouldnt expect anything less from the AFL. Nearly as bad as our thieving ploiticians giving themselves massive pensions after they retire.

Dill had a good mentor in Demetriou - the biggest rorter in the history of rorting.

Bishop & Pyne bowing out on $200K+ pensions annually, hope they can manage ....

I read just the other day Demetriou is paid $900K a year working for somebody or other, hope he can get by OK also

Bishops pension is 210k a year for life, Pyne 140k. If Bishop retired next year when in Opposition she would receive 70k per year less. Pretty clear why she retired now at 62 yrs of age.

Demetriou was employed, and I think his wife was too, by Acquire Learning on 900k per year, working 3 days a week in an advisiory role. The company went bust despite receiving 10's of millions of dollars in Govt grants. The company also loaned him 1.68 million to buy shares in the company.

It went under with debts of 145 million.

Pyne has been in Parliament for 26 years, I think his pension would be a bit more than that, I know public servants that get that much and wouldn't be earning as much as The Fixer

Demetriou's venture into the real world after the AFL was an unqualified success then ...

Loving the talk on government pensions.. Its an unbelievable deal they get.

On the AFL front. While those ridiculous wages get thrown about, we can't get 1 million to run a elite development league in the VFL system. It's farcical.

Pyne will be on 220k per year plus other perks.Rats leaving the sinking shp comes to mind with the current LNP mob.

Bishop, Pyne and the others obviously envisage sitting on the opposition benches for some considerable time & can't get out the door quick enough.

WEll regarded by both sides, Ms Bishop wil be given a nice ambassadorial post at some stage, similar to the thief Joe Hockey.

Australias worst ever politician's salary is 360k per year as US ambassador and on top of that gets a 90k per year pension care of Australian taxpayers. I read somewhere he even bills us for $2500 per year for child minding expenses while he is out wining and dining the VIP's in Washington.

Small potatoes compared to Demetiou,,,
