I'm hoping to get along to the North v Port game at Arden street.

Good on Frankston playing a mix of local clubs during the lead-up to the season.

What is the thinking behind that ? Is it for confidence building ?

Really solid effort again today by our boys!

We’ll be entering the season opener in two weeks’ time against Williamstown having 4 wins from 4 in our practice matches....bring it on!

FINAL SCORE: Port Melbourne 11.12.78 defeat North Melbourne 8.10.58.

Was at a dinner last night with half dozen borough fans. General feeling was that Port will have a good season, one stating that we will beat Willy in round one (after a few beverages at around 10p.m. I  nearly got murdered by a couple of Port ladies by saying that I thought they had a better chance than us).

Feeling was that we would finish top 8 with one of the fans saying that we could realy suprise a few teams if the new defenders step up to the plate.

Yeah I think Williamstown will probably beat us at home in Round 1. Especially training there under lights... I believe it will make a for a bigger than usual home ground advantage for the Seagulls.

I must mention that I don't mind the Port Melbourne heritage/clash jumpe worn this week (as attached in this twitter image). It's inoffensive, simple and distinctive. Don't get me wrong. I'd prefer to see us in our normal jumper.

Wouldn't be so pessimistic boys,Willy were comfortably beaten by a depleted St.Kilda 2nds team on Saturday but then again practice match form not worth a cold pie.

Just hope the wind dies down by Saturday night week!

Yet a week ago we were hearing it was all doom and gloom at Sandy and that they would struggle to win a game - 7 days later they beat Willy with a depleted side.

Clash jumper looks alright i suppose - i'm abit of a traditionalist - id like to see clubs use them only when their is a real genuine clash (after all we survived over 140 years without a clash jumper). A few years ago AFL vic ordered Port to play in their clash jumper for around the last 4, 5 away games regardless of wether their was a genuine clash (a silly decision that thank God was overturned due to heavy pressure for disgrutled Port fans)  - I'm going to sound like a old kodger by saying common sence is not so common any more !
