Would that mean you often hate me  Digs my old buddy???

Talking about talking sence and back to the discussion  of best VFL ground and set up, perhaps look at Google reviews of the 8 grounds of the clubs who want to be part of 2020 and see if you can find one that rated higher than Port.

Maybe I can save you some time and let you know that no ground has a higher star review rating than the sacred Northport oval, therefore not just rated higher by my overly biased self but best rated by the general public as well !!!

I would be carefull quoting Google reviews as they can be easily manipulated and are not 100% reliable.

North Port is a good VFA/VFL but the centre cricket wicket area when it gets sloppy and the slippery hills when wet that are dangerous for older fans take away a lot of points =7 out of ten max.Coburg,Sandy,Werribee and Frankston are ahead of North Port.

A year has passed since the ground resurfacing so it will be interesting to see how the centre wicket area has come along, the problems of the centre wicket area were meant to be fixed with the resurfacing.

As for Coburg, Sandy, Werribee and Frankston grounds being ahead of Port - they all no doubt have some good things going for them however general consensus would not agree that they are no better than Port.

Obviously the review was not done by football followers. !

Terribly dangerous for elderly people especially if your DRUNK...As they say in the classics " A drowning man will reach for a Rattlesnake "

Dont make things up to suit your argument.Mega .

It might be consensus among Port supporters MegaA but not the rest of the footballing community.

Any oval that still has a cricket wicket today is not up to VFL/AFL standards.  I find it strange the AFL hasen't stepped in to protect their listed players.

I personally slipped over behind the Williamstown Rd goals during a final and I wasnt to only person to struggle with the long slippery grass.I doubt it would pass a H & S audit!

CGull

SCG,Gabba,Bellerive etc??

billythekid

CGull They are test cricket grounds I dont believe North Port has ever hosted a Cricket Test!

The AFL has tried to get drop in pitches at those grounds and one day will succeed but maybe not at the SCG.

The centre squares at the SCG and the Gabba dont cut up like North Port in winter and spring.

Football grounds with cricket pitches are not uncommon. MCG, SCG, WILLIAMSTOWN, ADELAIDE OVAL etc are no different as well as hundreds of other grounds in the country.

Digs theirs two clubs that play at the ground, Port Cricket and Football clubs. A season high Port Cricket club crowd would be about 5 people therefore I think it's safe to say that the reviews were done by football fans.

Billy no doubt some of the ratings given for Northport oval would be Port fans but keep in mind Google reviews is open for anybody and is not exclusively for Port fans. If you think that a whole bunch of Port Melbourne supporters have got together to give unwarranted high reviews in order to give Northport it's ground leading rating that's a bigger conspiracy theory than covid19 was made in a lab to destroy the world economy, man didn't go to the moon or that Elvis is still alive - YOU AINT NOTHING BUT A HOUND DOG !!!!!

Finally some support !

Billy you would have to been DRUNK to fall over .

To suggest that elderly people would have been DRUNK to fall over is an absurd statement of ignorance.

Actually digs I dont drink much esp at the footy. It had been raining in the morning and the grass was quite long.

I got about half way up when my feet gave way - I bet a few people pissed themselves and only my pride was hurt.
