Is this the death of the VFA/VFL competition. I have been bringing the jumpers of the VFA back as part of a thread I have on Bigfooty.com. I have included my latest, the designs of the Brighton Football Club. Can this competition be the continuation of the old VFA competition. At least the clubs of the AFL Reserves were actually former VFA clubs. This will be introducing GWS, Aspley and Southport to the history of the competition. Gold Coast was a former VFL club. Sydney was the former South Melbourne and Brisbane was the former Fitzroy.
At least the Northern Bullants are coming back. I have also included my design for their jumper, making the jumper look like a Spiderman design, with a Bullant instead of a Spider.

Does anybody know if the coaching panels wages are included in the salary cap ?
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
If you mean the senior coach digs I can't see that it could be,I understand the Willy coach is on $130k or more so that wouldn't leave much out of $200k,might be some creative accounting employed
I think CGull is spot on. Ayres is on a solid wage at Port too. No way it could be in the salary cap.
130 k is a lot of money. To ask a potential sacrilegious question- is 130k too much for a part time roll ?

Collins is full time as is Ayres Mega,it's a strange mix in a way, full time coaches with part time players?
wizardwaffle I'd very much like to think that this isn't the the death of the VFA and really it's a return of those old clubs for the most part.
CGULL im happy that the league can attract top quality coaches. A few years ago Port posted a journal of a week in a players life and i was suprised at how much the players do and how much is involved, i imagine if something like that was posted for head coaches i would be equally suprised because to be full time their must be a lot of work done other than the coaching on match days and running training sessions. Even at full time does the salary need to be set at the high price it is ? I realise quality comes at a price but at a more affordable price that would allow the salary cap to be increased and Port, Williamstown and Werribee to further improve their sides and the quality of the comp by holding on to top players instead of losing them to other competitions who can offer them a more attractive package.
Yep, It makes sense C Gull. Thanks.
Believe $200.00 wont go very far to entice quality named players to the comp.
The AFL want young players developed not those on superannuation packages !
WizardWaffe Brisbane in the AFL is not the old Fitzroy, that club plays in the VAFA.
Honestly I'm still sitting on the fence if I will support the new league.
We are an unofficial VFA / VFL website made up of long time and new supporters of clubs from the Victorian Football Association (now Victorian Football League)..
