Do or die, Round 20 versus Preston
Well its come down to the last game of the season to find out whether the Borough will play finals. Can we bounce back after such a punishing last week at the hands of Williamstown? It might sound a bit perverse, but for a side that gets beaten by 20 goals, I didn't think we were too bad last week... Maybe that's the problem, we are beginning to accept losses. I don't think our match-ups worked last week, so hopefully the line-up gets tweaked to improve our chances. If Livingston isn't cleared fit to play, who should play on Digby Morrell? His body strength makes it a difficult decision. Perhaps Plemming? With Baird filling the hole in front of the leading Diggers. Plemming's form is a little patchy. I think Milhuisen might be the other option.

Port will be much better than the Willy game. Could they be any worse ? With a finals spot on the line this match could be one to watch. Could be the old style no holds barred VFA clash. I am sure both Ghazi and Mitchell will be desperate for a win. Bring it on- Teac Oval this Saturday.

I thought Smith is due for a break but as discussed last week they seem really reluctant to drop him. I was surprised by his naming in the best this week also. Anyway i would be surprised if they changed many. Your thoughts?

When Port had kicked 1. 10 there confidence was completly shot. The game was over at 1/4 time. The last time the both teams met, port was 5 goals up at 3/4 time so Im pretty confident saturdays game was just one of those days and this week they will come to play. Id play Milly on Morrel. he likes to play from behind because hes got good closing speed and makes plenty of spoils. Livo should be freed up abit if he plays and he could provide us some run. Obst needs to return to form as well and take players on... thats when hes at his best. I cant believe Toby Pinwell didnt play last week. He can actually win the ball at clearances, we get murdered there every week. Also whenever Dukes or Pitt doesnt mark the ball is taken out of our forward so easily. I dont know why because every week GhaziTells the smalls to be at there toes for the crumbs. I definately think this is a role that Nahas and Sam Dwyer could play perfectly but they seem to get there possions on the wing. We Need a big Port Melbourne like effort this week. GO BOROUGH

As you say Dukes, while we are still a finals chance, you can't make wholesale changes. I only saw the last half of the reserves, I can't see too many demanding a senior spot based on the result in Sundays early game.

Though I don't think he demanded his spot during his game in the reserves as Ons discussed, I can't believe he was dropped in the first place. I would like to see him back in but don't think they will make that call. Will he qualify for the 2's? If Shaw was dropped would he be qualified for the two?

I though watching the game on the weekend that alot of the players looked really tired and flat... seems to me they can't wait til the end of the year, which would be a shame, They've been in the eight all year. Maybe saade's comments about the zero chance of winning a flag has got to the playing group. Do you think the players may not respect saade anymore?

Lets not get into another Saadi bashing. I have done it before but we are all stuck with him for a little while longer. He wont be there next year though. I just hope we have not lost too many players in the mean time. Fixed! - PC

Who would have thought with everything that goes on in the VFL fixture, that the winner of a last game would make it, and the loser not, will be a cracker of a game, was dissapointed with Port on the Weekend, really thought they would have set themselves for it, I think they are a better side than what they have produced, and the comments from ghazi obviously don't do much in terms of motivation etc. for the players, I think the winner if this will also play Casey at Casey week 1 of finals, providing Geelong beat Bendigo,

Hate to be Mr Negative (20+ years as a Bulldog supporter will do that) but i can't see Port getting up this weekend. They look like a team that's tired and disinterested. Honestly, if they make the finals after the second half of this season, it will be undeserved. Even if they did make the finals, it's not like they can win anything, just ask Ghazi. I hope i'm wrong, but after the last few weeks and a coach that Port have, where does the inspiration come from?
