Burraburger...I was watching that match on TV last year...but I can't remember how the scores were wrong...was it a draw and the scores showed someone ahead...or was someone ahead but the match was actually a draw??? Being the current scoreboard attendant at Sandy this year I'm continually checking and re-checking the scores throughout the match.. Hopefully I won't have the goal umpires make the walk over to the scoreboard... Bloody embarrassing that would be

The goal umpires corrected the scores and it was a draw.I watched the replay on ABC 2 from the last quarter and tallied the score and the goal umpires were correct. The score attendant got it wrong as I think he was on the grog that afternoon. Go Borough!

Yeah I remember being at the game and a Willy kicked a point, however the scoareboard attendant put up a goal. This caused confusion however we at the match were totalling the score in our heads and thought we knew the right scores. Everyone at the game actually thought Port won by 1 point but there was another mistake during the quarter that we didnt pick up so it ended in a draw. And If you remember there was a rushed point by a Port player deep in the last quarter. We all thought the player rushed the behind as he thought Port was up by 2 points like the rest of the crowd. Not sure if you would take the ball deliberatey over the goal line when you only had a 1 point lead with just a minute or so left. Was a very strange day Zebraman....

Dale, with respect, your comments above are totally out of order. You should re-think them and apologise forthwith, you certainly dont speak on my behalf wishing health problems on anyone else. I've met Bobby many times at the footy and without embarrassing him,he's a genuine good bloke who only used a throwaway line, cetainly with no malicious intent. It goes without saying that everyone on here would wish Noel, our former scoreboard operator all the best, and that we don't have to worry about the closeness of the scores this week if you get my drift  To all Port and Willy boys,we'll be meeting at the Stags Head from about 12.30pm,see you there.

Bobby, Jason, Foz great counter meals at the Stag's Head. Catch you there around 12.30pm I would be interested in see how Gary Ayres speaks to his players in the huddle. This game should be a lot closer than last week at Point Gellibrand. It will test Port as the seagulls are definatley the team to beat this year. Always took forward to the VFA's oldest two clubs do battle.

My strongest drink on the scoreboard at Sandy is a full strength coke..if you see me with a can of anything stronger, feel free to give me some verbal flack!

Bloody embarrassing that would be[/quote] It happened very few times in my long period on Camberwell scoreboard. Once, the goal umpires apparently couldn't agree so my colleague and I had to change the correct score we had up. The 3/4 time score on the scoreboard at Willy last Sunday had to be corrected by the goal umpires.
