Box Hill chasings and signings?
I am curious. Has Box Hill signed up or is still chasing some dumped AFL or WAFL and SANFL players to join for the 2007 season?

Also signed is Kris Shore (Kangaroos) plus Kristian Height, David King and Cam Hunter (Box Hill) have all resigned. At this stage the confirmed loss is Sam Rudolph to SA although Ben & Nick Kane are both looking to be going to East Perth.

Great news all round there! Great to hear about Matty Ball, last i heard from the club, he was most likely travelling next year. Nick Smith is great, VFL listed ruckman/key pos player is so important, you build your team around them, and they're not going to be missing the next week due to getting a call up. Kris Shore, don't know much about him . . . but we'll take anyone with AFL experience, as i believe we've got some really good young guys who can develop with some more experience in the team. Great to hear Height, Kingy and Hunter are sticking around, even though it was written as resigned not re-signed. Hope King can get fitter, and both of them can spend most of the year on the field in '07! Also, Box Hill will have new entrance and carpark to unveil at our first home match next year, will get down to photograph the progress! PLUS, Box Hill and Hawthorn have agreed to continue to 2011, dousing the rumours of Hawthorn going in with the Tassie team. Good day of news all round!

Nick Smith signed by Box Hill is a very good pickup for them. Nick was a member of Sandys 2006 premiership team and has played many good games at half forward and roaming ruckman. Unfortunately Nick will be playing against the Zebras next season but after 4 good years at Sandy we can only wish him well with his new club. go zebs zebra :D

Ben and younger brother Chris have signed with Glenelg along with Sammy Rudolph. Ressies midfielder Phil Carse is heading north to play with Redlands in the QAFL. Also training are 5 or 6 good quality young Vic country kids the club is hoping to sign , along with a couple of classy young EFL guys. Watch this space ........

Just wondering who the EFL guys are that are training with BH & what theyre like. Any chance of any of them being signed?

Dropped into training last night. Great to see Matty Ball , Nick Smith , Kris Shore and a fully fit Cam Hunter running around. Lucas Markovic confirmed that he has signed on at the Hawks after coming off the Hawthorn rookie list and he reckons he's way ahead of his schedule in recovering from that shocking broken leg he received in the first ressies final last season. Says he's aiming for round one which must be a bonus for the Hawks. Not sure who else they've signed yet but noticed Lachie Carey , Andy Ainger and big Dean Crozier from Oakleigh all running around along with Adam Wilson , Snowy Stewart , Brad Neil and Leigh Bailey from Eastern. Pretty sure I saw Matt Robinson , last year's Stingrays captain out there too with his trademark white hair . Good get if it was him. As for the EFL guys mudshake , I'm not 100% sure on all of them but I did see Luke Barker from Croydon , Gary Conyers from East Ringwood and young David Johnson ( Evan's younger bro ) from Norwood. There's still a cast of thousands training there so I'm sure there are others but I found it hard to pick them out. Had a chat with one of the assistant coaches who told me that they have a handful of good quality young country boys training too. He seemed particularly impressed with Jamie Allen from Wangaratta , Rhys O'Sullivan from Shepparton and Kurt Batt from Lang Lang. Always a danger of over rating 'March champions ' (especially in january !!) but it certainly looked like a much improved Box Hill squad to me.

Thanks for that half time. Always intersting to hear how the young guns are going. Daniel Stewart (Snowy) has signed with Qld club Labrador & is moving up there at the end of the month. In the meantime BH are letting him train with them. Would be good to see one of the young EFL boys, that hasnt gone thru TAC Cup or another VFL club, get a go at BH or elsewhere for that matter.
