The following article was published in the Ballarat Courier on Wednesday, December 21. It lists the players allocated to North Ballarat as part of the new alliance the Kangaroos have formed with North Ballarat with the remaining Kangas being allocated to the Tassie Devils. Roos stars may play for North Tuesday, 20 December 2005 THE likes of AFL Kangaroos stars Sav Rocca, "shinboner of the century" Glenn Archer, the blistering Daniel Wells and Ballarat's own ruckman/forward Drew Petrie could line up with the North Ballarat Roosters in the VFL next season. Under the new North Ballarat-Kangaroos alignment, the Roosters administration was yesterday licking its lips over the announcement of the 23-member Kangaroos playing list which it will have for its VFL competition next season. While the Kangaroos will share their playing list with other partner Tasmania, on paper it looks as if North Ballarat has got the better deal. The Kangaroos players listed to be available for North Ballarat, should they not be playing seniors in the AFL, include Petrie, Shannon Watt (ex-Hamilton, North Ballarat Rebels), Justin Perkins (Heywood/Rebels) and player of the past two seasons Djaran Whyman who has been thrown another AFL lifeline by the Kangaroos. The other 16 players to be possibly made available, apart from Rocca, Wells and Archer, are: Kasey Green, Blake Grimma, Leigh Harding, Tim Hutchinson, Brent LeGras, Ed Lower, Daniel McCorkell, Mark Powell, Daniel Pratt, Matt Riggio, Eddie Sansbury, Ben Scharwz, Jesse Smith, Andrew Swallow, David Trotter, and Callum Urch.
