There was a meeting of Northern Bullants Members last night. I understand that the Bullants and Carlton are about to sign a 5 year deal to continue the alignment. They will still wear the Bullants jumper but will play all home game at MC Labour Park except for 2 at Cramer Street.
If this turns out to be true, it's a back door take over. Carlton will stand over Bullants , call all the shots and in a few years change the name to the Blues or even god forbid Carlton. Be careful Bullants, watch your back.

The Bullants to play only 2 games at Cramer Street. BIG DEAL !!! Why not change the jumper to navy blue with a white cfc on the front. To compensate the maggots might put a small bullant emblem on their socks to the size of a one cent peice. Preston what have you done. Let a clown like Greg Swann trample all over you.

That is it for any remnant of preston . Why even call it Bullants? Carlton and Greg Swann have stitched a VFA icon up pretty nicely hey?

Hi there, just popping my head in from TalkingCarlton where a link to this thread was posted. I'm not completely up to speed as to the details of the alignment with the Bullants and would appreciate it if you guys could spell it out a bit better for me so I can get a better understanding of why there's not much love coming from the Red corner. One thing that does puzzle me in regards to the ground comments is that PP is actually not that big compared to other grounds. From memory, it's comfortably shorter than the G goal to goal, and the width would be a bit less as well. I'd say it's probably in between the SCG and MCG in it's sizing. As a general rule Swann and the Pratt-led board have been doing a fantastic job at digging us out of some pretty deep shit. So, at this stage, from where I sit our admin is getting a big thumbs up. Keen to learn more about the concerns from Bullants faithful though???

It was suggested Cartlon's reasons were that the dimensions of the groun were not conducive to developing their playing list for AFL football. I guess Carlton is keen to get some use of its 'asset' at Princes Park rather than let it sit idle. .. Sure Melbourne Storm and the Blues use it, but they would want something more than just having it as a training venue.

All the Melbourne based AFL clubs, with the exception of Melbourne and Geelong, have had to give up their home grounds. Having just been through the same thing recently with the shift away from PP, I can empathise with Bullants supporters. However, we aren't really comparing apples with apples, I acknowledge. I assume the Ants would continue to train at Cramer St? What's the alternative? Are the Bullants in a position to tell Carlton to go forth and multiply? Without being up to speed on the finer details of the arrangement I'd have to say that, in a perfect world, Carlton would field their own reserves side in the VFL. An AFL/VFL club partnership is always going to leave both parties with compromises they'd rather not make. I guess Port/Crows and the SANFL clubs have similar issues also. And most probably the WAFL clubs too. Oh, there's zero chance of any AFL games ever being played at PP again either. Latest news on the redevelopment is that the only stands not to be demolished will be the Legends and Pratt Stands. Even the Heatley Stand is in the wrecking ball's sights. I had thought the Gardiner Stand would be already gone, but it's still there for now.
