So whats the problem then with that some of our local port boys were good enough to play VFL/AFL. Go Borough!

Sure the training and experience gained with vfl /afl makes better players for those good enough to make it only a few clubs in those days had 1-2 exvfl players, port had more in those years. zebra.

We had these players before they played in the VFL/AFL some of them came back after their playing days in the VFL/AFL.Some other clubs had more than 1 or2 players including your club so as I said get your facts right as I think you have a bad memory. So dont worry about it zebra/dees. Go Borough!

Geez Borough-boys, bet you're glad you lost those 2 premierships when you were aligned! Gee, that would've gutted you guys wouldn't it! Bet you're glad that Geelong ran over the top of you, and lucky Sautners a great actor, or else you might have won a flag as an alignment!

Bag Sandy all you like Bobby b....we copped it for years off Port supporters...a lovely feeling with the boot being on the other foot... You can make as big a song and dance about being stand alone as you like... Remember...your club chose to go down that path...for some mysterious reason 2 alignments didn't work... There's a messsage in there for you Bobby B....it's called looking in your own back yard And Lum....you bet like hell I'm enjoying our successes......hope it's not another 25 years like Port before we win another one I look forward to another in depth analysis of how bad Sandy are going...

Zebraman the alliament with the swans was working ok it was only because it was costing them alot of money sending players down as we had a great relationship with the club. The kangaroos alliament happened on the advise of Gannon and his cronies.Be as smug as you like because it is not the end of the world I personly couldnt give a rats about your team.We will be back and lookout. Go Borough!

Sandringham Never supported any and still dont Sandringham The affiliation with Melbourne FC has been very good for the Zebras with 3 flags to show . The other side of the coin is that the Sandy administration stuck to its guns early and gave none of its core values away unlike Box Hill, Coburg and Willy who are now not much more that AFL reserves teams. Yes Iwould like to see all the former VFA teams go it alone but common sense says that is not an option for most clubs As for the futrue of this comp will I dont think anyone has a clue including Football Vic and the AFL. Get rid of the bye and Tassie at the same time - its called the VICTORIAN Football League! Bring back the real name of the comp the VFA and promote it as the oldest and most historical Australian Competition ( along with the SANFL)

Its rubbish and arrogance to contend that Box Hill, Coburg and Willy are not more than just reserves team. All aligned clubs play loads of AFL players, and if you look at many threads you see even Zebra supporters justifying the alliance as good recruitment. Is it premierships that tell you the alliance is working or is it a combination of good recruitment and luck with the AFL players that bring the premierships. In 2003 there was a lot in the press about how good the Coll Will alignment was purely because willy won the flag. The next year Willy lost Mahoney, Baldwin, Smoker and Fletcher from the core group of Willy guys while the new bunch of Collingwood players weren't as good as the previous bunch. Is that a problem with the alignment? Its more like bad luck and poor recruitment, which both clubs are working on and making some inroads (hence being in the final 4 again). Changing the theme song was wrong at Willy, but then grand old flag is Melbourne and Port Melbournes so why the hell stick with that anyway. Go to the club rooms at Willy, or see a bloke like Lloyd jumping around like a little kid as Willy ran away with the game against Bullants and you'll see a Seagull spirit still very much alive.

GO ZEBRAS
