SAINTS to Casey fields?
Read in the Sun today that St.Kilda is having problems with the council regarding the developement of Moorabbin, and that St.Kilda is considering relocating to either Casey Fields or Port Melbourne! Can see them changing to become the Southern Saints, like the Western Bulldogs type senario. They haven't been based in St.Kilda since 1964, so the St.Kilda tag is thin anyway. The Sainters were originally going to be gradually renamed the Moorabbin Saints when they moved out there, yet obviously nothing ever came of that. If Port Melbourne was the go, i wonder what redevelopements would take place? Surely Moorabbins current state would be better than Port? Better to stay put I reckon!

St Kilda heading out to Cranbourne or St Kilda taking up with Port Melbourne .... are we away with the fairies? Come on Dolphin, you've been a bit quite chief, post up a decent topic. This one is puff...

Surely its only a matter of time before Casey stand alone, being in such a growth area. And its a fair drive for the young saints. Would be very interesting if St Kilda did have an alignment with Port. You would think of all AFL clubs they would be the most likely.
jasonborough
Lets hope the borough stand alone..The saints i would rather merge with donvale ???????

Even being a Saints fan i would hate to see them move to Casey firlds. The tireless effort made by the SPRINGVALE football club to initiate the move only for St. Kilda to move out there and ultimately take over, it would only be a matter of time before St. Kilda start getting prioroty of times ground use etc. etc. all of a sudden it is not Caseys home ground, more St. Kildas training base where Casey play reserves to them. Don't let it happen, seperate clubs seperate leagues. Caseys home ground, not St. Kilda's.

Not sure how strong your mail is on this one Dolphin, but I would have thought St Kilda would be more likely to move to their 'growth corridor' in the South East, than move back into Central Melbourne where their roots are. I'm sure the St Kilda players would be pretty keen on training at Port Melbourne given that most of them probably live close to the city. Ground availability at Port might be an issue... The Cricket club, the footy club and St Kilda all training on the ground.

What do you reckon ons?? would you have St. Kilda move to port melbourne?? It would definately turn it into a top class facility, but for the sake of Port Melbourne would you want it to happen?
