Davenport Gets his Chance.
Cats promoted 16 October 2007 Herald Sun Scott Gullan GARY Ablett's housemate, Jason Davenport, has been upgraded to Geelong's senior list. The 22-year-old midfielder, who has been on the Cats rookie list for the past 12 months, starred for the VFL side in its premiership season. He will be joined on the senior list by Tom Lonergan, whose courageous comeback after losing a kidney was capped by best-on-ground honours in the VFL grand final. Defender Matthew Spencer and former Bomber Sam Hunt are likely to join the four Cats players moved on during trade week.
Well done to him, thoroughly deserves his chance and good luck in 08.

Saw this in the paper and think it is very well deserved. On the subject of the Geelong rookies, does anyone know what the story is with Grima and whether or not he will be with them next year?

i'm pretty sure Grima got delisted, not 100% though.

You would think the Devils would be looking to sign him up.

I cant believe Grima has been delisted. I know Geelong has a number of key forwards but I thought he looked pretty good. Or maybe his team mates made him look better. Either way its pretty hard to find goal kickers, I think there would be alot of interest in him from other VFL, SANFL clubs.

Grima might be targeted by the Tassie Devils as well as Barry Brooks. Fergus Watts should be pursued by Frankston as well as Justin Sweeney since he was recruited from Tyabb by St Kilda.

I have heard a little whisper that Watts will be at Sandy next year.

He was injured this year. I thought he had signed for two years?
