Tigers appear Roos bound
http://www.hobsonsbayleader.com.au/article/2007/10/01/23158_wbv_sport.ht...
THE Werribee Tigers have had formal talks with the AFL Kangaroos about the possibility of a full or partial VFL alignment next season. It follows the decision of the Western Bulldogs administration to split with the Tigers after a seven-year alignment and join forces with Williamstown in 2008. Werribee president John Nicol admitted the club's board had suffered heartache since the shock split a fortnight ago. "This is a stressful time for the board, and we are going through a process in the most diligent manner to ensure the best possible result for our football club,'' he said. "We have been working our butts off. "We have generated three discussion papers to examine three scenarios for the club - full alignment, partial aligment or to stand alone (like Port Melbourne and Frankston).''
I have very little or no information, but I feel that we will go with a partial alignment with the Kangaroos next year. Personally, I don't have a problem with that as I enjoy being exposed to a professional AFL football environment in terms of the players and everything else that makes up the industry.

HA HA HA Werribee and the Kangas! Fingers crossed for Werribee that it works out better than the alignment with Devils It all depend on North Ballarat if the Kangaroos have a full or parrtial alignment.

Do you say HA HA because of what happened with Tasmania and the Kangaroos, Thylacine?

I dont know why Werribee would be rushing in to anouther alignment with the way the got treated with Western Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs were not happy with some of there players not playing (seniors or certain positions) how are the things gona be better with the Kangaroos who forced us to play Johno Hay?

Good point you raise there. I just want to see us aligned with someone because I really do think it's greater for our younger players to be playing with AFL listed players as I feel it helps with their development. Some people here might think otherwise though.

In reality the only reason you would wont to be aligned is to cut costs in regards to recruiting, which we try to do. But while saving money on the wages bill you loose your self

You guys get a fair bit of money from the AFL though, the funding AFL Tasmania just received is great and should hopefully help to improve the youth development structure down there.

I was talking about those who are in the senior side and playing with the AFL listed players.

Werribee would go ok as a stand alone team. They have a large area to work with. I'd say money would be the main issue in pursuing North as a part alignment. If Werribee went stand alone so would North Ballarat a they would only want a part alignment. That would mean Werribee, North Ballarat and the Kangaroos would all be stand alone. The mail says both the roosters and the Bees will most likely be with North Melbourne.
