I was bitterly disappointed at the end of what was a ripper game. I was proud of the boys, however think their errant kicking (18.16) did prove costly. It simply took too long for the VICS to hit their targets and at times made incorrect decisions. Congratulations to the SANFL side - it was a game that I'll remember for a while. Their defence stood tall all day and their midfielders were superb all day, I thought.

Fantastic day of footy with plenty of drama... A real shame we couldn't get over the line, but the side had a real dip. Considering we were well beaten in the Centre bounces, its amazing we were as close as that. Plus some ordinary kicking for goal, and some shocking umpiring (From the SA umpire...) and we just fell short. I couldn't believe that their Umpire was throwing the ball up at the centre bounce? What was going on there ?? He barely threw the ball above the rucks heads as it was. Some videos and pictures are up here, in the content section: http://www.vflfooty.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=list_pages_categorie... A couple of them are very short, and you might need to go get a coffee while u wait for the videos to download too. Thanks to CyberDoggie for the media.. The loud bastard you can here is me.

great game, i just got back to adelaide, most of the vics at the game were very friendly people, that would with out a doubt be in the top 5 matches i have ever been to. the only 4 in front of it, my teams premierships.
Robbo
The game was the best game of the season without a doubt at AFL or State Level. With SA playing WA next year who would support a game between Victoria against either AFL Queensland or AFL Sydney side to give guys next year a chance at a state jumper. 100 posts yeah!!!!

maybe a merged nsw and qld side? current system. 2006 SANFL VS WAFL -SA 2007 WAFL VS VFL -VIC 2008 VFL VS SANFL -SA 2009 SANFL VS WAFL - WA 2010 WAFL VS VFL -WA 2011 VFL VS SANFL -VIC

In reference to Robbo and goUUUdogs, this season the WAFL will play the QAFL, perhaps the VFL might consider doing so next year rather than missing out on State representation. Ive suggested this a while back in another thread, but I would love to see the VFL season extended to include two interstate games each year, and pushing the VFL Grand Final back to a week after the AFL Grand Final (as the SANFL does)... Probably too much of an interruption having two byes during the season however. I also didnt mention just how good the Tasmanians were in Saturdays game.. Atkin, Hall, Callinan and Beams were big contributors.

EJ would rise up and strike down the VFL if that happened. I wondered if a country venue might be an option? Maybe even Casey Fields if that area gets along to State Footy.

Just be thankful the Tasmanian public pays so much money in gate takings so that Victorian clubs can keep playing in front of 300 people and representative teams in front of 2300. Come back when one of your teams draws 10,000 to a final, then you'll be able to play at home.
