Tell me what you think? Havent seen much of some of some of these players but i had a crack, open to opinion just don't crucify me for attempting though. B: A. Biddlecombe J.Crow C.Obst (Sandy) (Nth Bull) (Port) HB: P.Read J.Cloke A.Neville (Geelog) (Bendigo) (Coburg) C: D.Robbins J.Byrne K.Hall (Port) (Geelong) (Tassie) HF: E.Poyas R.Crowe T.Hazell (Sandy) (Sandy) (Port) F: J.Podsiadsly N.Sautner J.Berry (Werribee) (Ouch) (Frank) Foll: A.Eames B.Johnson S.Valenti (Frank) (Willi) (Sandy) Int From: D.Limbach T.Grima T.Ronaldson S.Greene (Willi) (Geelong) (Coburg) (Willi) D.Spriggs P.Summers (Port) (Sandy) You wouldn't Pick Grima and Limbach in the Same team in my opinion. Ronaldson as the 2nd Ruckman. Then it's your choice of 2 from Greene, Spriggs and Summers. Did toss up over Hall and Spriggs on the Wing, Spriggs perhaps more suited to a wing then Hall? but felt i should have Hall in there, perhaps Hall on the interchange and Spriggs on the wing might go alright? Apologies to A.Williams, M.Ball, but probably went more for a bit more leg speed. And to J. Baird and L.Livingston
Just think if if the great man sauts was left out for ex..grima,limbach,or even pods...
Obviously Nahas will take Sautner's place....Pods is no match for Nahas!

Sandy. The most successful club in the past 30 years

:D Iceman, I do like your state team and really think it may be the best of the selected group to choose from, but as all other supporters would prefer to see more of their own team players included, which is only natural. My only critisicum of your players was the naming of Sautner as (ouch) not (Sandy) after all he has earnt a lot of VFL respect with his goalkicking and team work at Zebraland and with 5 premierships to boot and not forgetting he was a former Springvale player in 1996. I am sure you as well as all VFL supporters hope OUR VFL TEAM combine together and win the interstate clash next week to prove we are the best competition outside the AFL. go zebs zebra

I have huge amounts of respect for the man, He just gets on my nerve as he always kicks at least 5 against us, even when he has a bad day he still produces. The (ouch) was just thrown in there because if you look back at previous posts of mine when i have named a player i love to hate; it's always been sautner!

:D Accepted Iceman, Sandy and Scorp officials get along very well together and it's only when the footy starts that the differences appear, just as well we are all different as we would be supporting and barracking for the same team, hence no competition. go zebs zebra

Great to see three guys from our club named in squad. Pods, Castello and Gleeson.

I have just seen some stats about this game on the WAFL website. This is the 7th meeting (1st game in 1950) WAFL have won 4 VFA/L won 2. 1st ever meeting in Victoria between these 2 teams. There have met 3 times at Subiaco and also played at Adelaide Oval, Exhibition Ground in Brisbane and Leederville Oval where they previously met in 2004. I am trying to get more stats together before next week.
Players under consideration but ruled out: Troy Makepeace (Casey Scorpions) – Leg Digby Morrell (Northern Bullants) – Rib Thomas Roach (North Ballarat) – Broken collarbone Hayden Skipworth (Bendigo Bombers) – Knee Jeremy Dukes (Port Melbourne) – Leg David Gallagaher (Sandringham) – unavailable Chad Liddell (Sandringham) – unavailable
It's a good indicator of how much talent is currently going around at VFL level. Would have liked to see Dukesy representing the BigV... maybe next year!

Liddell has said that both he and Gallagher have made themselves unavailable because they believe that the team should be used to showcase the best players in the competition and that most of them are under 25 anyway. This is in this week's edition of Inside Football.

:D Good on Chad and Gaggs for giving the younger players a go at representing their state as they have nothing to prove to any VFL supporter, this opens the way for a few new younger players to be selected and represent the VFL jumper. go vfl. go zebs . zebra :D
