AFL backing State Football.
It's great to see the AFL throw its support behind the State concept. Feature articles on the website building up the game, and promoting the gold coin donation to see a cracking game of Australian Football at the highest level possible outside the AFL itself. Good stuff.

I doubt that the AFL would care at all about this and are just giving lip service to this mickey mouse so called "State "game" Be lucky if a couple of thousand even bother to turn up. If you have to give something away for free its a sure sign that the "product " is not selling or is no good in the publics eyes.

AFL money hungry arrogant fools would not care about anything except themselves. If the reserves went back to where it was in 1999 I say good riddance to AFL scum. The old VFA clubs can resurrect its once famous comp. It could bring in Vermont, Noble Park, Balwyn, Heidelberg and any other club that wants to join including a few from the bush. I am sure that the old rivalry and new ones from the new clubs joining will be a hit. At least you would have all clubs playing for the jumper and playing fair dinkum football. Maybe even bring back the 16 aside comp with no wingers ?? Keep that rule that youi can't kick backwards in the back half. The afl can continue to produce thrilling games of chess like the St Kilda v Hawthorn. That would have to be the worst match in the history of Australian Rules Football !!!! As to the afl reserves comp if it was resurrected, who cares. I would never ever follow that trash.

Noble Park went from the SFL to the EFL. Vermont was sounded out in the late 70s by the VFA Heidelberg wanted to join the EFL but got knocked back Balwyn went from the SFL to the EFL I'd say these clubs are keen on playing at the highest comp available. I would bet these clubs would join if the VFA reformed to a strong viable comp which would be stronget than the level they play currently. These clubs are all very viable and would be supported strongly. I would bet on these clubs joining as would some from the country areas. Time will tell. Interesting time ahead with plenty deabte and guess work. Will also be looking forward to a great game at Teac Oval on Saturday. The weather is meant to be 21 degrees and with entry fee a gold donation there is absolutely no excuses for at least 3000 people. That is being a realist. I would love to see more there.

Do you think the great unwashed AFL masses give a stuff about this game at all? Are the players the BEST from each State NO they all play in the AFL. So wether YOU like it or not it is second rate and of very little relevence to the average Vic footy punter. If more than a real 3000 ( inflated) people bother to turn Ill bare my arse in Bourke St.

By the way billy the only AFL game on is Carlton vs Adelaide so there is no excuse for a fan of Victorian football from not turning up.
