Pleming was due to end up with some sort of injury eventually, just the way he relentlessly attacks the footy. Thanks for pointing out that Jarrad Grant is AFL listed, I just presumed he wasn't because he wears number 24 and is only a young player. With Carmody, he just fell in, just, because I wanted to try and get a bloke from every club. Who would replace Pleming in the back half? Silvagni possibly - who are your standout defenders that are in form? As for the Grant and Carmody they're cut from my VFL side. Now I need a bloke from Collingwood - Daniel Frost has impressed as a small forward replacement for Grant. Now the squad is 25. Would anyone be happy to play young Liam Jurrah? Ryan Colbert and Tim Walsh are probably the only other two that I would even consider - looks like the Pies won't have any 'Rep' players in their first year.
Do you seriously think that Pods is the only player from Werribee that would make the state team?
I saw Werribee when they played Geelong in Round 2 at Skilled. As you will no doubt recall Pods kicked 7 goals and probably should've kicked more. Young Flinn Chisholm, former falcon, played a decent game but the rest of the blokes on the park got towled up by a much better Geelong outfit, who haven't worked wonders themselves this season.

I would nominate a squad of 30,here goes, Bendigo-Skipworth Box Hill-Neville,Kenna Casey-Wall,silvagni Coburg-Silvester,Shelton Collingwood-no germs allowed Frankston-Pollard,Berry,Marigliani Geelong-Byrne Nth Ballarat-Stephenson,Wundke,Spolding,Clifford,Goodes Port-Cotchett,Fanning,Baird,Nahas Sandy-Valenti,Summers,Crowe,Biddlecombe,Lamb Werribee-Podsiadly Willy-Stretton,Galea,Cloke,Jolley,Johnson. Take your pick for captain,maybe Byrne,Johnson,Neville?
bullants
From the Bullants would nominate Paul Colbert to at least be in the squad, doubt he'd get a game though. David Boundy and Brent Bransgrove may also be a chance.

Oops, forgot the Bullants, probably only Lappin, are Tassie players eligible,i suppose they are, havent seen them so will leave that to others.

Who wouldn't look out of place playing for the VFL by any stretch of the imagination.
taswegian
Yep Tassie players are eligible and have played in the past eg Ian Callihan, only guy who I reckon has put his hand up so far is Cameron Thurley, maybe Ben Setchell and Josh Vearing

Just out of interest, is the North v South game still going ahead at some stage during the year?
Pebbles
Having watched all their games this season, I believe that the selectors got it righ as Jarrod Silvester IS the in-form full back of the competition. and Tristan Cartledge is in the top three rcukman. But I am surprised that Paul Shelton, Nick Carnell and Nat Caruso were not selected in the original squad.
