Williamstown supporters feedback
I am curious to know if any other supporters have noticed amongst all the support for David Stretton, how many times he turns the ball over? He does these eye -catching runs through the centre but invariably kicks to a contest or the opposition and the ball rebounds. I have also noticed how Ben Jolley is the one who is in under the packs and getting the ball out to players such as Johnston, Stetton, Rose etc but when he gets himself into a receiving position they never seem to pass to him, prefering to keep the ball. They quite often then lose it rather than pass to him and he has to do all the work again. I would say he hits his target 9 times out of 10 but can't say the same for the others.

how this bloke is not on a list its a joke, he is hard as nails and a fitness machine kicks goals take hangers and would be the best tackler in the vfl by the length of punt road!

Odd topic this one, potting one or two players but pumping up one particular one. Is there a hidden agenda there? From where I sit (and I don't see Williamstown all the time) most of Williamstowns VFL players are NQR in one area of their game. This is not criticising them either, it's probably one area that has stopped 8 or 10 of them from ending up on AFL lists. Some are slow, some lack polish, some are short, some shave been injury prone, some are undersized for the position they play and some are too big. But collectively they play as a team, they seem to enjoy playing for that footy club and most of them are bloody hard workers. The Seagulls success this year is more to do with their VFL group than their AFL players IMO. I'd have thought Ben Jolley lacked the pace to be damaging as an outside player.

If the latter, then i guess he would be JUST the best tackler in the VFL!

Ben Jolley is a very hard worker but I think he does get recognised by the Willy faithful for his efforts. You may also note that after Ben Jolley gets up from the bottom of the pack there is sometimes a little blond Johno beneath him. There is simply no question in my mind about Johnson. He is a standout in most aspects.

Due to living overseas i have only seen 2 quarters of a Gulls game, which was the first half vs Collingwood (still to watch the 2nd half). Didnt notice Stretton that much, but Jolley stood out for maturity and pose. Thought Johnston was terrific.
