Draft chances - 2006
Borrowing from a recent post from 'vfa' who do you think is a chance to be drafted from your club? (I'm still hanging my hat on picking DeLuca going to Carlton in 2003). How about we limit it to a possible 5 nominations? For Port: Warren Carlyle Rhys Bloomfield (Rookie) Matt Smith Hmm two extreme outsiders/speculatives: Robin Nahas Nick Raines

From Port, I reckon the best chance will be Robin Nahas, with Warren Carlyle as a smokey. Of the other clubs i've seen a bit of, Shane Valenti from Sandringham might be a chance, and of course Deluca.

Aaron Edwards (gun player who will Frosty Miller medal) Matthew Smith (big improver) Warren Carlisle (consistent and has had a taste in the WAFL for West Perth) James Podsiadly (never too late, look at Josh Mahoney) Sean Pollard (very underated and one from left)

Neville (Coburg) Edwards (Frankston) Podsiadly (Werribee) Galea (Williamstown) Nahas (Port Melb) Valenti (Sandringham) Mathews (Casey) *Podsiadly if the AFL decide to allow each club to choose one player over 23 years of age.

I reckon Gibson from Box Hill's a possibility to get rookie listed by Hawthorn, and Al Neville from Coburg could be some chance. Isn't Paul Kennedy player great football, went from looking like a bit player, fighting for his place at Sandy, to a leader, hard running, confident footballer. Great accelleration over the first 5 metres. He'd be a great mature aged rookie if the AFL allows it this year.
