No Sunday games in Round 20?
Surely the VFL should push for one match to be played on the Sunday in the final round! Imagine the crowd at Casey v Frankston if it was a Sunday match, but no the Scorpions are going to clash with Nepean League finals, the second last round of Peninsula footy and the final round in the Casey Cardinia league and play on a Saturday. If it was a Dolphins home game there is no way they'd play it on a Saturday...and no the St Kilda FC dont play on Sunday so a move wouldnt clash with them! Hard to see the logic there.

Carlton are playing the same day as the Port/Bullants and I'm sure Port would have preferred a Sunday home game. Doesn't make sense to me, seems that VFL have decided all teams need to go into the finals with the same number of days between games.

I(nstead Casey play Williamstown who they have already played twice, and Frankston have the bye! )

Once the TV games are set, then the home club can pretty much move it as they like. Hence the Frankston v Box Hill game on the week before is now Sunday. Its Ports game, they can play when they want. They could have moved it from the Saturday but they appear to have chosen not to. Has nothing to do with the VFL. However, the Reserves draw was totally crewed up this year, and that IS the fault of the VFL.

I hope they made the right call, I suppose if they had the option of a sunday game they wou;d have looked at it, as i know they have stated in the past, that Sunday is their prefered day of play for home games. Wouldn't have minded heading down on the sunday for a 'BLOCKBUSTER' hey dolphin!

Williamstown in Seniors (At Tassie) On Sat Williamstown Vs. Casey in Ressies (At Willi) On Sat Frankston Reserves - Bye. Wouldn't it be good to have all clubs playing together in at least the last round?

I think they shedule them all for the Saturday, select the best one as the TV game and then let the home clubs pick whether it's to be Saturday or Sunday. I agree with Iceman - I've heard it said by Casey that they prefer Sunday as it keeps clear of the local football which is on Saturday (Casey Cardinia League and MPNFL). However, I would have tthought that an announcement would have been made by now if it was going to shift. Today on the VFL website the following fixture changes were announced: TRUenergy VFL Fixture Amendments - Round 19 and 20 The TRUenergy Victorian Football League advise of the following amendments to VFL Round 19 and 20 games, as documented below:- Round 19: Werribee vs. Bendigo Bombers Reserve Grade game has been rescheduled from Sunday 19th August to Saturday 18th August. The match commences at 11.10am and will now be a curtain raiser to the Werribee vs. Geelong Senior match which commences at 2.00pm. Round 20: Bendigo Bombers vs. Geelong senior game and Bendigo Bombers vs. North Ballarat Reserve Grade game have both been rescheduled from Saturday 25th August to Sunday 26th August. The match times remain at 2.00pm and 11.10am respectively.

Appalling PR from VFL - stuffed round 20 Geelong match from late Sunday night to Saturday to Sunday. No mention in Record of the latest changes and no mention of Bendigo Reserves changes. VFL would not reply to my queries re Bendigo v North Ballarat round 20 reserves times and dates. Apparently Bendigo v Geelong is on Sunday afternoon at QEO with Bendigo v North Ballarat Reserves curtain raiser. But the VFL couldn't give a s##t about its supporters.
