Finals Equation with 2 rounds to go
Here is who the teams are playing and what might happen. SANDRINGHAM (1st 14-2) vs North Ballarat(Home), vs Coburg Tigers(Home) Need one more win to secure the Minor Premiership should do that without a problem. Likely finish: 1st GEELONG (2nd 12-4) vs Werribee(Away), vs Bendigo Bombers(Away) Another team in great form and will be favorites to win both games. Likely finish: 2nd COBURG TIGERS (3rd 11-5) vs Tasmania(Launceston), vs Sandringham(Away) Finishes with 2 away games but should take 3rd spot with win in Tassie. A finals dress rehersal against Zebras in last round. Likely finish: 3rd NORTH BALLARAT (4th 10-7) vs Sandringham(Away), Bye A big game for the Roosters at Sandy as they must win to get the double chance. They will be watching the final round with a lot of interest. Likely finish: 6th WILLIAMSTOWN (5th 8-6-2) vs Port Melbourne (Away), vs Tasmania(Hobart) Despite stumbling of late likely to regain double chance with 1 win in next 2 games, 2 wins will mean definate top 4. A huge game against the Borough this week including the possible return of Nathan Buckley does it get any bigger. Likely finish: 4th CASEY SCORPIONS (6th 8-7-1) vs Bendigo Bombers(Home), vs Frankston(Home) The rampaging Scorpions are an outside chance of making the top 4 should the Roosters and Seagulls stumble with 2 very winnable games at home. Likely finish: 5th NORTHERN BULLANTS (7th 8-9) Bye, vs Port Melbourne(Away) After sitting out with a Bye this week their finals chances could well be on the line against the Borough in the final round. Likely finish: 7th PORT MELBOURNE (8th 7-8-1) vs Williamstown(Home), vs Northern Bullants (Home) 2 huge weeks for the Borough as they need at least one win maybe 2 wins to make the eight. They do have the advantage of playing at home. Likely finish: 8th BENDIGO BOMBERS (9th 7-9) vs Casey Scorpions(Away), vs Geelong(Home) May need to win both games to make finals could be difficult against 2 inform sides. Likely finish: 9th WERRIBEE (10th 6-10) vs Geelong(Home), vs Box Hill Hawks(Away) Must win both games and hope results go their away, Highly unlikely Likely finish: 10th FRANKSTON (11th 6-10) vs Box Hill Hawks(Home), vs Casey Scorpions (Away) In the same situation as Werribee and very unlikely. Likely finish: 11th Box Hill Hawks(12th 4-12) and Tasmania (13th 2-14) will stay in those positions.

Excellent summary Robbo. The more I look at it, the more I think it's going to be a Sandy v Cats final again.

Sandy v Willy at Port Geelong v Coburg at Port Casey v Port at Casey North Ballarat v Northern Bullants at North Ballarat Just geussing the venues if they finished like that Robbo. Sandy v Willy would be a huge clash with Sandy favourites of course Geelong would have the edge over Coburg Casey to have the dge especially at home North Ballarat to reverse the flogging at Cramer Street Week 2 Willy and Coburg to front Casey and North Ballarat Fifty fifty games for sure

I like this part in the Football Record this week: "The VFL also looks to support clubs and councils where appropriate. Certainly, Casey Fields is a venue that is being considered should the Scorpions play finals. The City of Casey has been exceptional in its support of the TRUenergy VFL over the past few years and its venue and facilities are second to none." Provided the Casey Scorpions make the finals (which should happen now you would think) there is likely to be a first week final at Casey Fields.

What if they finish fourth? Would Sandringham have to go out there? I'm sure they'd be happy with that

Interesting question, but refer to the same article: "It must be understood that, unlike the AFL, finals matches do not necessarily fall to clubs with a higher ladder position." Anyway, Sandy shouldn't be too concerned - the Casey Scorpions have never beaten Sandy at either the Beach Oval or at Casey Fields in eiother a practice match or H&A. I wouldn't think they would have too many concerns, would they? If the unthinkable happened, and the Scorps won, it wouldn't be the end of the world...I mean the end of the season... because they'd have the following week to get back on track.
