Can anyone fill us in on the reserves finals? I am interested to know where our (Werribee) reserves are playing in the first week.
Casey Scorpions play home game at Casey Fields on Sunday.
Is this a given? Putting aside the possibility of a draw, there are 8 possible outcomes for Casey in the various matches impacting on the bottom half of the final 8. Four involve playing the winner of Port v Bullants. Two involve playing North Ballarat or Bendigo, where Casey is the higher finishing team. The two others involve Casey playing North Ballarat or Bendigo where the regional team is the higher placed. In the the latter scenario (Casey playing North Ballarat or Bendigo where the regional team is the higher placed), is Casey still guaranteed a final?

I wonder why they didn't schedule the Roosters V Bombers game at North Ballarat? It would have been closer for Bendigo fans (based in Bendigo) to travel and would have really created a good "Country Town Stoush" feel. And just imagine if it was held on a Sunday Arvo - might have pulled in a really big crowd. By putting it at Northport - it might take away it's buzz. Peter H.

I guess its hard for them to accommodate everyone, and Sandringham and Casey are deserving of a home final. I'm a bit surprised they're playing the reserves finals away from TEAC Oval, but it makes sense to protect TEAC Oval and also take advantage of the later start time. They've done a pretty good job with the scheduling actually - surprisingly. Although I'm still in favour of Week 1 finals being held at four suburban grounds. I don't think we need TEAC Oval games until the second week.

It's interesting - the 1st Elimination Final is listed in today's weekly TV guide as being scheduled as the TV game for next Saturday afternoon (and it would have been printed prior to yesterday's results). TEAC is the venue for TV finals games. For the last couple of weeks North Ballarat has been locked into 5th position, but they could have been playing Casey if certain results had occurred (including Bendigo winning today). There either wouldn't have been a Casey Fields final in that scenario, or else the VFL would have changed the scheduling and listed another final at TEAC next Saturday. I think the latter is more likely, as otherwise the Casey Scorpions match would have clashed with the St Kilda v Richmond match. It just goes to show what a juggle the scheduling is, with the various considerations to be taken into account.

Weren't stand-alone sides told they'd host a final in the first week should they make? Disapointing to be heading out to Cranbourne on Sunday to play finals. I can't imagine the crowd would be bigger out there than at Port would it? Offtopic, what condition is Moorabbin in at the moment?
