Shane Valenti wins Fothergill-Round Medal
From VFL Website Sandringham’s Shane Valenti has had an astronomical rise through VFL ranks. The gun midfielder and small forward is equipped with dash, skill, spirit and a high work rate. A prolific ball winner and blessed with clean and efficient disposal, Valenti is sure to have caught the eye of AFL recruiters. Excellent in heavy traffic, he has an innate ability to break tackles, is smart around goals and is fearless in and under the packs. Just 20 years old, Valenti plays with a maturity that belies his age and this is reflected in his work ethic both on game day and on the training track. A product of the Sandringham Dragons, Valenti joined an already potent Sandringham on ball division last year, was a member of the premiership team and is very well respected by his peers. This year, Valenti’s star continued to rise when he was selected for the Victorian representative side that smashed Western Australia by 119 points.
