Iwould think Saadi knows his fate is sealed at Port as he is almost certainly coaching Newport Digman in the local Willy comp this cricket season.

At least he cares about the comp
Libba.
Interesting suggestion, has coached Box Hill previously. I think if we are looking to get an AFL assistant coach a job that we would probably getting someon who has never coached their own side and have something to prove. I do like the idea of Sheedy, if he's working 3 days a week as an AFL ambassador, the club should see if he is willing to take on a role at the Borough... The club needs to market itself more strongly, and a coach like Sheedy would be a huge boost in that area. I believe Voss has moved to Melbourne, and failing getting the Essendon job (just mentioned that was still in talks with the club on SEN) but I can't say I think he is the sort of ex-AFL person the playing list would warm too. IF Nathan Buckley does not play on in 2008 I think he would make an excellent footy coach. Very astute person who understands the modern game. Anyway, whatever happens I think the important issue is we retain as much of the list as possible. Despite Sunday's scoreline, I don't think we are as far off as some people say. If the club can attract another 4 quality players out of the AFL system I reckon we could take the next step.

Figjam- Buckley as captain coach, Sheedy, Pagan, McGuane. Plenty of potential out there for the boroughs to snag a good coach for 2008. probably need another 3/4 gun players to add to current list. Did well to reach the semi's but was totally outclassed by Coburg. Then you got Geelong another rung higher again. Still a good year for Port with a chance to build for 2008.

No to McGuane 'vfa'. I rate Chris Bond, he has previously coached Werribee, if the club is looking at coaches like Libba, I reckon Bondy should also come into consideration. The coaching changes at AFL level have thrown up a lot names.

Go BOROUGH!

McGuane is probalby still contracted to coach Balwyn next year. They bombed out in the 1st semi final to East Ringwood. Chris Bond would be a good choice but I think Port might stick to Ghazi as they went from last to beaten in the semi's which is a rapid rise. That is of course if Ghazi still wants to stay in the job. Bond who coached Werribee has had more expreienced as assistant coach at AFL level and would do well at Teac Oval. Pagan is a former player at Port who coached Yarraville to a Grand Final in its loss to Brunswick in 1980. Not sure if he would be interested as he would be more likely to spend his time at racetracks as he has a like for horses- owns a few.

VFA, why would a highly paid and well regarded AFL assistant coach want to take a shitty paying VFL job? Let's be realistic here.

Not saying he will but I am saying he would be great for Port. Is Ghazi staying or going ???
