I'll be on the burgers bandwagon tomorrow as I would never ever support a stand alone afl club against vfl team whether the vfl team are stand alone or aligned. Coburg can cause an upset but would want to begin well and get a jump on the cats. If Geelong gets on top early with the feral cats supporters on the wagon it could be a long day for Coburg, especailly with 19 afl players including rookies. My heart says GO COBURG but unfortunately Geelong to win by 48 points.

As I have said in the Inside Football this week I have tipped Geelong by 26 points. In the reserves, I have tipped Coburg Tigers by 17 points

Port to win the reserves by 20 points with Jason Borough and Bobby Borough celebrating drinking a few cold cans during the main game.

Cats dominated Tigers to take Premiership Glory Geelong have won their 1st VFL Premiership for 4 years after thrashing Coburg Tigers by 74 points at MC Labour Park today. In a game played in perfect conditions, The Cats dominated from the start it was only their conversion that let them down but they still took into quarter with 15 point lead. Coburg came out agressively and that led to a all in brawl at the quarter time break. In the 2nd quarter as the players continued to have apush and shove with at one stage Geelong's Nathan Djerrkura having 2 shots at goal without the ball being bounced. As the play settled down Geelong's midfield got right on top but once again poor conversion by the Cats led to an even 2nd quarter as the Cats remained 14 points up at the break. The 3rd quarter was the killer for the Tigers as Geelong ran riot adding 7.6 to 0.1 to have the contest wrapped up by 3 Quarter Time to lead by 61 points. Tom Longeran after stopping Jack Riewoldt in the 1st half kicked 5 goals in the 3rd quarter onslaught. Withe game effectively over at 3 Quarter Time it was a matter of the Tigers playing for pride and they came out and kicked 3 goals in the last quarter to Geelong's 5 as the Cats ran out 74 points winners to win the 2007 premership. Tom Lonergan with his 6 goals was named the Norm Goss Medal as best on the ground. Henry Playfair and Scott Thompson also in Geelong's best. Daniel Jackson and Travis Ronaldson were among Coburg's best. A great crowd of 13842 were there to see today's Grand Final. I think the VFL should be happy with the crowd, it's a shame the game couldn't be a bit better, it would have maybe won over a couple of non-VFL supporters.
