l wouldn't want to insult the big bloke up top by even considering going to a game on the sacred day. having a match on the day is just about making money and that should be last thing that we should be thinking about. it disgusts me but as long as the pies are never involved it won't affect me. The day should only be about honouring the saviour because l sure wouldn't exist if it wasn't for him but i do realize that we live in a very selfish world, a me-me society, very sad indeed. the almighty dollar rules but don't get me wrong money is great and l would love more but for me there is something more important than money.
Im sorry but I have to differ, the days of the christian churches telling the rest of the society what to do have long gone. Many people including me dont follow religion so why should we be dominated by a group that has a moving feast? If "good friday" is SO important why is it not on the same day every year? Its just another (boring) holiday to the majority of people and nothing is stopping the religious inclined from doing their thing.

So ?? I also take Australia day,Melbourne Cup and the Queens birthday holidays and they have NOTHING to do with religion mate! Actually as I work for myself I take holidays and work when I want to.

So I wouldn't mind honouring our countries Saviours, because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't exist. Having a game on ANZAC day is just as much about the dollard as it is anything else, the clubs would be licking their lips come April every year...

Piesman.....you are here as a result of your mother and father....to say your being here is as a result from your "saviour" is naive at the best....my High School biology was not great but I do know that your parents had a fair bit to do with your being here on Planet earth. You obviously have strong religous beliefs....that is your choice... But to inflict those beliefs on others by saying that a football match on Good Friday is wrong...you have every right to have your beliefs....but please don't inflict them on us who do not happen to go along with what you believe in... To say that the almighty dollar rules is a bit odd when the Catholic Church is one of the biggest corporations in the world....I'll give you an example....my Father gave the Catholic Church the flick many years ago because they used to send people around to their house collecting money if those people had not attended Mass...wondering where the almighty dollar syndrome come from???? I can guarantee that if Collingwood played on Good Friday, the game would be sold out....and I reckon plenty of people would attend the match AND go to Church... I stress again...feel free to have your beliefs....but don't inflict them on to those of us who choose (quite rightly in my opinion) not to believe in religion.... I feel better now.... Nothing like a good argument about religion on a football site!!!
