I heard a very strOng rumour on the weekend that Fox Sports will do both the TAC Cup and VFL Grand Finals live. Channel 2 to show a replay at 2pm on the Sunday.
Thats terrible if thats the case. Your mail is normally very good Robbo on media info. I'd rather see the VFL Grand Final replayed at 11pm on the Friday night! And I bet ABC2 wont be able to show it cos its not an arts program. Next question is will Foxtel take the ABC feed of the game or will they produce their own coverage?

It's a long shot shot, but don't discount Channel 7 or Channel 10. For 7 it would create a nice 24 hour festival football build up. For 10 just something to go with their brownlow coverage that week. Both unlikely, but you never know. Pete.

What a great boost for VFL footy if it was on a commercial free to air network.. I wont hold my breath though.

As this game is a night game, this will mean no heavy beer sold. VFL fans screwed again.

The Locker Room bar will have heavy beer. Drinking will be done before the game at a pub near Turd Dome. Also a few ales at the breaks, 1/4 time, half time and 3/4 time. I hate light beer. Worst light beer ever invented was Fosters Light. Yuk. Thank god they don't sell that crap anymore. If I had to drink a light beer would have to be Cascade light, only if there was nothing else. Another blight on the GF would be celebrations for supporters would not be the same. Not as if you can go to the club and kick on as it would be 10pm when the game will be over and for those that intend to also go to the AFL GF there will not be much sleep for the weekend. Since this year's NRL GF is on the following week there is a strong likelyhood that Melbourne Storm could be playing a Prelim at Telstra Dome on the Sunday, a day after the AFL Grand Final. Could be a triple header for me and Monday off work to recover !!!!

They are looking at a possible Saturday Night Prelim Final at the Dome or a Sunday Afternoon game at the MCG!!!

MCG on a Sunday arvo would be great for the Storm. Couldn't get there last as was beach volleyball (indoors). Will watch the replay tonight. Whenever that game is on it looks like a big big weekend. Friday night VFL GF Saturday AFL GF Saturday Night or Sunday Arvo NRL PF The following week hopefully Storm will be there again to go back to back. Trip to Sydney again for me.

I see Channel 10 have a Grand Final edition of the popular Before the Game on Friday night. Channel 9 may have coverage of the Melbourne Storm Prelim Final. Aside from that there's a popular racemeeting at Moonee Valley and a few other Grand Final Eve functions on around town. A low crowd would be disappointing enough, but it'll be VERY embarrassing if the VFL Grand Final rates lowly. There's some good competition on the telly though.

There is going to be a room for the winning and losing teams at the dome for the fans to mingle with the players after the match.
