I actually said to my brother at yesterdays game what do you think Howard leigh could possibly write about today game??? Not one AFL listed player even deserved a mention and Werribee were thrashed. And then I opened todays Herald Sun.........Chris Mitchell thats the worst article Ive ever read. Seriously you must be the only person in Australia worrying about Hamish McIntosh's knee. Rediculous Chris!!!

I'm with you Burra Bueger this is giving me the shits so much so i feel like calling him up personally and giving him a ear full what i think of his crap articles. How could someone write such utter garbage in a VFL section is beyond me and the VFL needs to act on this either have there own seciton in the Sun or not have 1 at all Who cares about Hamish anyway not only was he playing against his old club he did nothing all day but it was such big news haha it gets funnier every week What will the Grand final review say ?
What will the Grand final review say ?
Not much if its a Port v Nth Ballarat Grand Final...there will be so few AFL listed guys to write about. Perhaps Chris Mitchell might devote half a page to some Kangaroos rookie playing at Nth Ballarat and write how he should get another year on the list. Perhaps the VFL next year should exclude buffoons like Mitchell from the tipping chart in the VFL record too. Why give a clown like that any publicity? While I'm on that, they must get someone from Casey Radio and someone from the other media organisations in that next year.

In Sunday's Herald Sun should have wrote Dolphins in courageous win as a highlight and not Coughlin. Absolute disgraceful. Mark Coughlin was not the highlight of the day maybe Howard Leigh could have wrote it was great to see a stand alone team like Frankston give Coburg a 5 goal start and win in a classic game in a hard fought win. Monday's Herald Sun is worse. Hamish McIntosh's knee- big deal. Who gives a f@@@. What about Port's great win. What was said about it. Nothing ? The article was all about McIntosh. Chris Mitchell you are a goose.

Unfortunately that is how it is now and will only get worse as the media and public including my own kids who were brought up on the SFC from babies refer to the current VFL as the "reserves". The only hope is both Port and Frankston can keep winning so the Media have to report that they are not aligned to an AFL Club. We old VFA supporters better hope that atleast Port make the GF other wise it will just be the TAC and AFL Reserves at the Dome and I for one wont waste my time or money watching that.BTW where were all the famous Richmond army on Saturday?

I have to say, Michael Sharkey's stories are very good. It's obvious he goes to games and understands what happens on the field. Well done Michael

Coghlan was not even named in the best. McIntosh would not have even got double figures in possesions and was beaten soundly in the ruck. Here are a few other things that may have also been of interest. * Caruso kicking 4 goals * Brawl that ended in reports * Raso, Conroy, Magner, Corp named in best. * Dean Limbach kicking 4 goals * Frankson's big upset *Jono Mullins snags 4 goals *Captain Cotchett kicks 3 goals after month on sideline. *John Baird 37 possesions *Chisholm best on ground for Werribee *****I could go on all day but you get my point

Pity we don't have a Phil Cleary writing for the Herald Sun. It is sad that someone like Howard Leigh who has great knowledge of VFA has to resort to writing crap. I have known Howard for years and is a genuine bloke with a lot of knowledge and good memory on a lot of topics including a variety of sports. The Herald Sun should be ashamed of themselves. At least the leaders newspapers do have great articles on the local sport which incldes VFL and it is a pity that the Herald Sun is full of afl garbage. I wonder if Chris Mitchell the goose wrote a review for the 2008 vfl season he would state that the highlight of the season would be the day Josh Fraser played for Collingwood. I might have to start reading the vfl reports in the age as it looks like Michael Sharkie does care and his articles are a lot better than the Herald Sun.

Sharkie writes some good stuff. I suspect that Leigh didnt even watch the game on Saturday, Coughlan kicked 2 goals early but did nothing else. The Limbach Rance matchup was hardly enthralling, and the rest of the article was quotes or statistics - many of which were wrong anyway! I susp[ect the problem is with the H/S sports editors dictating how stories will be written.
