Having seen first hand the disappointing crowds at the first 2 weeks of the Finals, I am fearful of what the crowd might be on the Friday night at Telstra Dome. I would desperately love to see a crowd of 15,000 to 20,000 which would be a huge boost to the credibility and profile of the VFL. Can you imagine what a crowd of 5,000 to 6,000 will look like on television? Even worse than some of those poorly attended GFs in recent years at what used to be called Princes Park.

They'll be lucky to get a thousand there next Sunday for Nth Ballarat v Werribee. Interest factor to most people = ZERO! The need to reassess the whole competition for next year. John Hook and Peter Schwab have really stuffed a lot of things up at AFL Victoria. They've diluted the credibility of the VFL reserves competition even further, they've compromised the biggest game of the year by forcing one side to only have a 5 day break, they've even done a nice job of stuffing up the TAC Cup. I don't care if the AFL take it all over cos it couldn't be any worse than the mess we have right now.

Its clearly not working atm and something drastic has to be done before this present format is beyond saving. Something that would be a good idea is when you have non Metropolitan clubs like Werribee,North Ballarat,Casey and Bendigo playing in Prelim Finals play them at the local grounds not at Port and dont forget with the gentrifcation of the Port Melbourne area its no longer a traditional footy area in fact most of the residents couldnt give a stuff about our game - too busy sipping lattes in Bay Street.
