YAY!!!! I can see the reserves Grand Final  Keeps my consecutive run going. Sad isnt it  How bads the lack of publicity about the U23 game though. No squads announced or anything. Typical VFL idiots.

Plus we all know that nobody from Port or Nth Ballarat would be available. They could have made some sort of initial annoucement surely. There's not a single mention of this game in the VFL Record this week is there? Why not promote the best of the young talent in the VFL?

Just a quick note wouldn't you think they would put the VFL reserves Grand final on the saturday ? I can't understand there bloody thinking it's like they don't want to make the comp work ? It would be fantastic having the Grand Final on the saturday it would bring in more fans and Willy seniors are playing aswell.......... who is going to watch the under 23 match serious a few AFL scouts. I really hope during the week it gets changed

I like the scheduling - good to see that they're persisting with the North v South game, which keeps being pushed into different time slots each year. I wonder too if they'll do what they did last year and allot three of the top-age kids from the TAC Cup to each team. [quote="footyman"]YAY!!!! I actually think it's a good move, as otherwise Box Hill would have just a six day break against a side that has had a fortnight off. The under 23 game is only for the scouts, but it still seems to be an initiative that the players enjoy; not too many opportunities to play any type of rep footy.

Seems almost unbelievable that the VFL hasn't scheduled a Reserves Final involving Williamstown before the Port Melbourne vs Williamstown Preliminary Final ....... No complaints from a Box Hill point of view though - gives us a full week's break between finals.

Senior Grand Finals since 2000 and Ressies since 2001. I'm not that old! But except for last year I'm sure I've seen Williamstown in the reserves GF every year. The most memorable of them would have been 2006 when it pissed down with sheets of rain, Box Hill got out to an early lead and snatched victory from the powerhouse Seagulls side of that year. I agree the Reserves should be on the Sunday for tradition. But why have the VFL continued to publish "September 20/21" on the schedule if it has been set for a few weeks as you said Minka? Once they announced the Reserves Prelim was today alarm bells did ring in my head, but I assumed it was just VFL crazyness. I can see there are logistical issues though. Would have been a lot easier for Williamstown to play the same day - cheaper for fans, less changeroom sharing needed and I suspect better for their staff.

Coburg's loss today is about as big an upset in that grade as was that 2006 Grand Final.
