Public transport here in Sleepy Hollow is shit awful at the best of times, so I won't be going to the game. It makes for a long day when going in by train, and if I miss the one straight after the game, the next one isn't until after midnight (apparently). I have no intentions of changing trains on the way, so a stop-over in Werribee is out of the question. For me, going to the GF is not a viable option.
Fairweather supporter!!!! Excuses, excuses, excuses!!! If your side is in the Grand Final what does it matter if you have a "long day"? The returns trains are at: 10.05pm 11.05pm 12.05am 1.05am See you there.

Sleepy Hollow has shitful public transport within Sleepy Hollow but the trip to Melbourne is an hour or thereabouts, $8.80 Return Concession. Just to pump things up - Disconnect Dome at the Darklands is closer than TEAC Oval for train travellers. There you go tragics I found an upside out of TD, although I must admit it was extremly difficult. I'm interested to know how many VFL supporters will be 'doin the double' of both TAC and VFL games or will most just rock up at 7 for the VFL.
As much as I would like to go, I have far more important things to spend 25% of my fortnightly pension on (I'm approximating the cost for the day - travel, ticket, food & drink - would be about $100).
$75 food and drink, nah.

Pie and a 600ml coke for $8 and you've spent just over $30. Or lash out on a few beers and you're up to $50. INEXPENSIVE!

Although not prevalent in VFL circles, it's bloody brilliant. Here's the itinerary: Train Ticket $10, Game Ticket $15, Packet of chips $4, Packet of biscuits, Cut-Lunch max $12. Enter through the car park carrying up to 12 cans of whatever tickles your fancy ($30), enter the ground - do the old 2 for 1 a the 'Bar' ($5) and you've now got yourself 2 legal plastic cups in which to pour the contents of your smuggled cans - to be down out of sight underneath the seat. And maybe give the plastic cup a wash first. SIREN - we're away - what a night! All for the bargain basement price of up to $75. [quote:a827ee9a9f="PMJohnno"]Oh and Dan, I'll be at both.. That poses another question if Oakleigh made the TAC GF would the Port supporters get along?
