Port by 30 points. We beat the Roosters in our only clash this season and we are playing alot better football now than we were eary in the year. The gound size wont make a diference. It will benifit Port if anyone with players like Nahas, McGrath, Brewer being able to run and not get cramped for space like they do sometimes at Port Melbourne. Im tipping 18,000. 70% of the crowd will be port with the reamining 30% made up of Rooster supporters, general footy fans and also randon drunks in the area on a friday.

I am looking forward to Port Melbourne vs North Ballart grand final game at Telstra Dome. I hope Port win because we have played oustanding this year its been the best that I have seen in a long time. Glad we didn't at North Ballart it such a bad surface to play on. Port's ground at least has grass on it. Go Borough - you can win!! :D

Your lot never played here so how the hell would you know what the surface is like ? No knee re-cos at Austar Arena this year, unlike your dump ! I'll admit it needs a clean up but the 1.2 million upgrade over summer should get the ground up to your standard hopefully.

I can't wait for this match, not only as a roosters fan but the prospect of these two great lineups in form is amazing!
[quote:f40d5d2a04="sandy08"] Surely Ports ground isn't bigger ?
Nah surely not. Well the Telstra Dome dimensions come from the St Kilda website and the TEAC Oval ones from the AFL Victoria website. I think someone needs to get their tape measure out and check because you're right Port cant be bigger than the Dome.
What about metres squared? Ports pockets are far more narrow than those of Disconnect Dome. The measurements are correct, just misleading.
[quote:63d10fbc21="footyman"][quote:63d10fbc21="MinkaBeaver"] Is the ground size definitely an issue? I don't have TEAC Oval's dimensions in front of me, but from memory it's only about 3-4 metres shorter than Telstra Dome and about the same again in width.
You're almost spot on. TEAC OVAL Ground dimensions: 165m x 134m TELSTRA DOME Ground dimensions: 159.5m x 128.8m
Surely Ports ground isn't bigger ?
No way, have at look at the 50mt line at North Port Oval-its only a couple of mts from the centre square. The Dome would be wider and longer.

If they were at 50 they would intersect the square. Actually, the Williamstown Road end was a fair bit shorter from the 50 than the other. They are kidding themselves if they suggest it is longer than the Dome.
