Just wondering if anyone had heard any news on the Frankston coaching position? Has anyone been interviewed etc?

On the AFL website Shannon Grant has been named as the Dolphins coach for the next two years!! Non-playing of course but good start for a hopefully long coaching career! Hopefully he can coach as well as he played! :D Here is the link http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tabid/208/Default.aspx?newsId=69032

What makes you think a person straight out of AFL footy with no coaching experience will be the right person to lead a stand alone VFL club? From what you've heard what set Grant ahead of the pack?

A strong rumour at the Port Melbourne B&F was that Phil Cleary was offered the job at Frankston had to turn down the offer due to distrance/travel.

That would have been one of the most left field coaching appointments of all time! Phil would be great when it comes to team spirit, an us against them type attitude, but its been a long time since hes coached senior football. Has Mr Dolphin heard anything on this?

Rumours are funny aren't they. I might recall I also had heard a rumour about Creswell.
