Box Hill Hawks v Adelaide

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25145282-19742,...

HAWTHORN'S injury crisis has reached epic proportions, with the club including just one premiership player in the squad for its practice match against Adelaide tomorrow at Berri. The club's lengthy injury list, combined with the desire to rest several stars, means that only ruckman Brent Renouf will back up from last year's Grand Final.

The club will literally resemble VFL affiliate Box Hill, with seven non-AFL-listed players from the VFL side in the preliminary squad of 26 after the Hawks gained permission from the AFL and the Crows.

The Hawks have conceded they have an "extraordinary low level of player availability" and are almost certain to be under strength for Round 1 opponent Geelong.

What an absolute farce these pre season games have become.
If the AFL cant get some sort of credibility into the competition please give it the flick.
The fans are just as much to blame for turning up & supporting this crap that is dished up as footy.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

It's a practice match.

And that is not an answer to the previous point.

So let me explain it to you.

The NAB Cup is a competition.

When an AFL side loses a match in that competition, they play arranged practice matches. Thats what the Hawthorn v Adelaide match was.

Its surely not that hard to understand.
