Zebras now officially GAWN so the 8 is set.

Unfortunately both the AFL teams - Cats and Skunks - will progress into September. >)

Despite the wind I thought the first quarter was surprising when Frankston jumped to such a lead, but their first few goals were from Sandy errors.

The second quarter was a debacle when Sandy, with the gale, didn't get a goal.

I had to do other things and left, and I've just seen the final score.

The 3rd quarter obviously went as would be expected with Frankston adding significantly to their score with the aid of the wind, and taking a 72 point lead into the last break.

But in the last quarter Sandy obviously woke up - had 17 scoring shots to 1, but kicked 8.9 and lost by only 21 points.

In fact for the entire game Sandy had 27 scoring shots to 23.

It's a game Sandy should have won, and will rue losing.

Wont the Saints fans be disappointed that they wont have a seconds team for the finals - do I care nope!

Here is the general opinion of St Kilda idiots on their forum!

AFAIC they can go and *** themselves and I hope they dont win the flag .Always was a mongrel club and nothing has changed in their long pathetic history.

Is this a Sandringham forum or a St Kilda forum?

Don't give a rats arse how they go!

You're right our depth is terrible. Today a perfect case in point. 8 players missing, 6 of them in contention for AA, and we beat the reigning premiers interstate in a must win game (for them) by 4 goals.

Who cares about Sandy? I only care about the saints players playing for them. They were all (mostly) playing for the saints today.

For me the VFL results are all about how our players perform like a number of you have mentioned.

However with that being said it's clearly in St Kilda's advantage to have the Zebras playing finals football. It's going to be pretty hard for anybody out of the Saints to force their way into the team.

Today's match showed just how fierce the competition for places is going to be and unfortunately if Sandy can't turn things around we'll have a number of fringe players training hard but sitting on the sidelines every weekend.
It is now abundantly clear how well St Kilda are accepted within VFL circles. When they were with Casey, the Scorps were a rabble; now they are with Sandy, and yep, pretty much the same.

It's obvious that the MFC players are prepared to do what's best for both the AFL team AND the VFL team. They played finals when with Sandy and will play finals again now they are with Casey.
Hmm, Dale61, I think you might be onto something here .....

Hey Billy, since St.Turda gives the great Sandringham such disrespect and now that the season is basically over for sandy, why not play all the Sainturd players in your ressies? What is the financial situation of Sandy? Can they go standalone?

What a great day at Sandringham yesterday. 2 great very unexpected wins by the Dolphins.

The quarters in the Seniors went 31:20,31:20,35:00 and 37:00. The game did not finish until after 4:50.

What about the incident in the 3rd quarter in the reserves when Sandy player Jake Williams was sent off(red carded) for having a go at an umpire and the Frankston runner as he was coming off the ground becuase of the blood rule. He took a long time to get off the ground after being sent off.

I have never seen that before. He has been reported for misconduct.

Terrible performance by the Zebs for the first three quaters. The only positive of the day was the game was not played at Frankston. The boys on the terrace would have had a great day giving us heaps.
