North Ballarat will be at home if they beat Sandy this week and retain top spot.
Not sure after that but Port will be at home if they beat Willy this week. This would mean Port v Willy at Teac Oval in consecutive weeks.
Preston will finish fourth unless upset by the dolphins then it would be the winner of the Box Hill v Casey that claims fourth spot.
Geelong and the filth will be seventh and eighth and hopefully both afl teams will be knocked out in the first week of finals, especially the FILTH.
As I have said previously it has been done on a best fit basis. Port Melbourne will almost certainly play at TEAC Oval in first week of the finals. Rumour has it North Ballarat will host one. possibly looking at a game at either Box Hill or Casey for other final away from Port Melbourne.
Even if the Roosters finish on top, They are no certainties to host a home final.
All to do with the TV broadcasts & a big push for Box Hill. Unfair but a fact of life.
I can remember a few years ago the VFL giving Tasmania a home final way ahead of Port who finished much higher on the ladder, but I think they have been well compensated for since.

In recent years the VFL has definately shown a preference for using venues where the $$$$$$s are being spent in week 1 of the finals.

For that reason Casey and Box Hill would be short priced favourites to get home finals against the 2 AFL reserves teams (assuming the Bullants defeat Frankston), with the 2 qualifyng finals at Port Melbourne.

What a great "effort" by the Coburg Tigers yesterday. I wonder if they have actually turned up yet?
The VFL have not played finals at other grounds for quite a while. They seem to like Port as the premier finals venue.
An elimination final has been played at Casey Fields in 2007 (Casey 6th v Port Melbourne 7th) and in 2008 (Casey 5th v Bullants 8th).

Box Hill was used for a Qulaifying Final in 2003 and Elimination Finals in 2002 and 2004.

Off the top of my head, the VFL has also used (as well as Casey) Frankston, Sandringham, Preston, North Ballarat, Bendigo, Bellerive, York Park - any others?

Will we EVER get a level playing field in this Bloody dogs breakfast of a competition.
If you reckon it's bad now, wait until next year with the Gold Coast with no reserves & the almost certain demise of the Bendigo Bombers.

Pauls Camcorder (not verified)

To Jason and the boys, the camcorder will be on this Saturday so be sure to bring the finest form of the 2009 season with you. Volume three will be unforgettable!

The Borough MUST BEAT WILLIAMSTOWN by one point or more, it doesn't matter how much. We have to finish the year strong without a defeat at our ground for this season. Especially as we will play them again the following week, a loss is not an option.

To be fair, North Ballarat should have a home final for finishing on top and, whether Casey or Box Hill finsh higher on the ladder, a home final for either of them is not a bad idea as well.

Williamstown had a home final against Kangaroos in 2002.
I was at Box Hill on Sunday (VWFL grand final) and the new social rooms were very good. Box Hill is a fine ground to watch football at.

North Ballarat is much easier to get to as well ;-)
