Atkins gone?

Would seem a foregone conclusion that Simon Atkins and Werribee will part company after five years. Atkins is rumoured to have spoken with a WRFL club about his services next year, while it has been reported that Adam Simpson was asked if he had interest in the Werribee job, and declined, while both newspapers have said that Anthony Rock seems to be the front runner for the Werribee Senior coaching job in 2010.

Anything annouced today after the game...cmon Benny Carbs give us something mate!!!!

IF (and that's a big IF) the Axe was to go, maybe Rohan Smith to coach?

Hutchy in the Sun reported that Smith was not after a SANFL job and wanted somthing part-time in the Western Suburbs.

Depends on Smith's media commitments too, he'd probably have to throw Fox Sports away if he took up the Werribee gig.

Pretty sure the Kangaroos want a full time coach at Werribee to manage the other half of their list the same as the Roosters.
What they want & what they get should be up to Werribee, But like everything else it will depend on the dollars & how well the Bees are travelling.
Anthony Rock would be a good fit all round.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Unfortunately I don't know anything at this stage, negotiations are still in place as far as I understand and have heard from talking to a number of different people.

Dale, I just don't want to get myself into trouble before I have even got my big media break and ruin my reputation before I have even been able to work as a journalist full time.

Why do you think I am a yes man?

If I knew anything more, I would have something to say.

Nothing was announced after the game today, just a quick reflection on the season and a thank you from our football director Martin Carter.

Nothing from Axe either....

I thought I'd come in on this one.
I doubt we'll hear anything from Ben until something official has been announced.

Ben tends to sit on the fence so as not to piss off his contacts, which means that when/if he takes up journalism in a full time capacity, he'll be nothing more than a 'yes' man and steer away from the controversial issues.
Mud slinging went out in the 80's and the bump is well and truly dead but still the great Dale61 will have a crack at anyone and everyone. Is it jealousy, spite or plain resentment? Perhaps we'll never fully understand why it is always Dale62 who throws punches under the table.

Sometimes one has to be a 'yes' man, after all it's only the VFL. Mick Malthouses entire assistant coaching panel is made up of 'yes' men, they seem to go alright! Those in the media tend to get ahead of themselves and eventually finish up biting the bullet before they reach any heights in the industry.

There should be no controversial issues in local or VFL footy.

The media heroes start all the rumours and inuendo but Carbs will toe the party line, as he should, because prospective coaches are touchy issues with football clubs.

Carbs don't ask advice of Dale51 nor seek his approval, he only wants to see you fail, that's the type he is.

As I'm not the media but I'm certainly a hero, and being a good sport, I'll lay out everything I know about the Wezza coaching job at this stage.

Axe is gone.

The only reason I could see Rock not coaching is if the players didn't want him, apparently a few have issues with the little fella.

Chris Gilham left Geelong West/St Peters to pursue higher coaching at Werribee maybe he is a smoky to follow in the footsteps of Dale Amos and he knows the Geelong area well, which is of course a feeder to the Tigers.

I remember Anthony Rock being 'drunk as a skunk' after the WRFL/FDFL GF in 1999 (or maybe 2000?).

I was eating at Maccas after the Division 1 GF at Yarraville, and he came in, took some fairy wings off the notice board and pretended he was a butterfly!

I was hoping he wouldn't see me eating in the corner, but he did and came over asking what I thought of the game. I said it was pretty average (sounds like the 99 GF) and went onto say that's bullshit.

I think at one stage (happy to be corrected) he was on the tiles in front of the counter.
I thought I'd come in on this one.
Welcome back. Nice to see you again. So quiet without your input.
Those in the media tend to get ahead of themselves and eventually finish up biting the bullet before they reach any heights in the industry.
Very true. Dylan Howard a prime example, tried to make a hero of himself and got the arse from every footy media outlet known to man.

Ben's in a tough position - you should realise that Dale - he can't comment on the Werribee FC unless its factual information or information in the public domain. And unlike many of us, Ben doesn't hide behind an 'alias'.

Debatable!! Where are you working/calling nowadays?

I've got to say footyman I'm a little bit disappointed, I was expecting a good old fashioned bake! I'm at uni in Geelong so I'm writing in the Addy and calling the BFL Part-Time, I'm calling the 1st semi between Colac and Bell Park this Sunday at Kardinia Park.

I've been keeping an eye on the Zebras, even with the upgrade in AFL talent this season they don;t seem to have gelled at all. Maybe next year.

Has the VFL itself improved or declined since last season? I would've thought Frankston struggling isn't great for the comp.
