Further to my earlier post -
I have watched Frankston over a number of seasons and was disappointed with the decisions that have led to such a terrible year.
I watched players lose confidence with their ability no thanks to the unnecessary abuse they received, unanswered questions surrounding demotion to the reserves and the lack of consistent game structure which saw the team fall apart.
On numerous occasions the media have credited SG with developing a solid list for 2010 and giving young players opportunities. Yes this is a credit but not when you're team should have been be a successful force to be reckoned with.
At this point the club should have asked themselves if the senior coach appointment was the right choice and what could have been done to salvage any hope in the rest of the season.
I cannot recall if any media outlets have questioned:
SG's coaching ability
Why proven senior players were playing in the reserves (not due to injury)
Why players were leaving part way through the season
Why players were struggling with form
Sometimes the public and media do not look beyond the players in times like these.
I think Frankston FC administration have a lot to answer for regarding their view of the season. Was such a poor performance expected? If not, why didn't they do anything about it?
I guess my reason for posting the comments was to ask the questions that weren't being asked. I bet there are a lot of players that would like to know the answers too.
They are valid questions Dollie. I posted similar comments back mid year on this forum and became public enemy #1 of the Frankston FC.
This year was a DISASTER. They need a successful year in 2010, we all want to see them back up and running. I'm not sure if any of the guys that play there read this, but its crucial that they keep their core group of senior players to be able to make that happen. Hopefully those who have had a frustrating year decide to stick at the club and go around again.
Dolphin, if there are holes to pick in Dollie’s post, please do so.
I'm not picking holes in anything. I simply stated that it is one view.
I'm sure if "dollie" or
Limbach was one player who seemingly was treated like shyte by the Dolphins this year. Limbach's hardly a consistent player, but he's a talent when he's up and going. To have him rotting away in the reserves was a curious decision.
I'd also love to hear your views Dolph, but respect that you may be in a position where you can't and/or don't want to create more issues.
I for one am not going to hang shit on a club that I love when it is trouble. There are problems, and they need to be resolved, as they no doubt will be.
Sniping won't help it. Support will.
I can tell you one thing though. There are a few people around the club that really need to have a good look at themselves. I have no time for people that want to hang shit for their own personal reasons when it adds nothing to the future of the program. There really needs to be a bit more respect shown by some, especially when the club has given them opportunities that they otherwise would not have had.
Respect goes both ways. There is no point asking for it if your not prepared to give it.

Dolphin, As someone who is pretty close to the acion down there, Are you HAPPY with BRIAN MACE.??
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Dolphin, I dont think there has been a lack of respect in this thread - with the exception perhaps of one unwarranted attack on Bryan Mace.
What I see is people asking genuine questions about what has happened. People arent being disrespectful to the club as you suggest, just perhaps asking for some accountability over how a club has gone from a perennial finals participant to a team that was regular being beaten by 60-100 points, with effectively the same list of players.
I think there would be something wrong if people didnt ask those questions.

I think if you surveyed most people on this forum, few would say they don't have a soft spot for the Frankston FC. I know I want to see them be a successful club, and love having them a part of the VFL.
And I don't think we can simply put Frankston's failed year down to improvement by other clubs, its an internal problem...it seems player management (or mismanagement) has been a problem, have they been as thorough with opposition planning, or created a game plan to suit what cattle they have? To people who see the Dollies regularly, how has the game plan from 08 to 09 changed? I'm not inside that club so I dont know. It would seem Grant has walked in with very little knowledge of his list.

I was not talking solely about this thread, other than to answer a question.
My comments in relation to other issues, as stated in my comment, were about people that should reassess their behaviour in and around the Club.
As for the comment regarding "people", I for one am not too sure that it is too many independant people asking the said question even under differant names in this thread.
Rather than asking a question, how about making a statement. Vague "questions" are week and don't help anything if there is no answer offerred.
The thread dumps on Grant, as well as others about the club.
I dont think my opinion of the Mace influence at Frankston is wrong.
Have a look at the history of this club over the last 30+ years and you will see an ongoing theme - appoint a high profile AFL/VFL coach, recruit a few high priced mainly dud players and wow we have a priemership team = not on your nellie!
Every problem has a solution finding them and doing something is the trick.

Well that outline just proves how wrong you are.
I can see no evidence of that over the past 6 years, so probably time to get off that little badwagon.
